Okay, so i tried to go off a decent size booter, probably 10-15 feet switch, and when i did, i just completely ate shit from the moment i took off, it was the most awkward thing ever, so my question is:

What should i be doing to improve this problem?

ok well whats happening cuz if u dont tell us we wont be able to tell you how to fix it, firstly what are your trying to do(zero, sw 1...)? and also how are u landing on yourisde? backseat?.

The first time i started hitting thigs sw last year it felt so weird, and just dont stop practicing youll get it. oh and also practic riding switch so you get used to it.

It's all about popping good in the right spot. Once i popped about 2 feet early, yeah didn't turn out too well. And commit to it too.

when i did it, i was trying to straight air it, but when i popped off the jump it felt like my skis just shot out from under me and i landed back seat

Stagger your feet. If you look over your left shoulder, poke your left leg back a lot. It opens up your upper body/shoulders so you can see where you're going. And practice super hard just ripping runs switch.

i learned on like 5 footers and stuff. just to get used to the idea i would just kinda hit the lip and swing my left ski around and have my other one kind of fallow. i did that a bunch of times and eventually i got comfertable with it.

im trying to get rails switch. i get the 90 but when i get on the rail i wash out. now my white coat has orange paint on it. (from the rail). tips??

well, what way are you sliding? if you are sliding unnatural compaired to what you usually do, you wont be used to it. get really good at that first.

second, maybe your spinning on unnatural to get on your normal way, that could throw you off.

im havin some trouble doin half cabs too. i can ski switch no problem but i always like 90 on the lip and fuck myself.

when you ride up to the rail is the rail between your legs because when i do that i wash out but if you come up to the rail with the rail flush with your forward feet this should help you land on the middle of the rail

Just try a small 0 off of a kiddie jump, just so you get the feel of taking off switch. I actually like to pop with my feet a little staggered. Also, make sure you're staying centered, you'll lean back (on your heels) more than normal switch skiing, it can be a little strange feeling at first. After you get the feel, learn some 1's, go for a sw three and then move up to some larger stuff.
