Goggles or not?

Nah I dont bother, nothing like being able to ski and having your retinas being stabbed with millions of icy crystals at the same time

I do wear goggles a good amount of the time, but now that I have Pit Vipers I find myself wearing them more and more. It's vastly less itchy and so much lighter, so I see how this is a viable question but I feel like everyone has a pair of goggles.

I for one value the health of my vision/eye balls so yeah, definitely wear goggles.

Wait, is not wearing goggles while skiing bad for your eyes or something? I strictly only wear them if its precipitating or absurdly sunny, which never happens in Ohio.

Ya im too cheap to buy a good pair and in the midwest you dont need them on groomers so i just buy cheap sunglasses and wear those when its bright or I dont want crap in my face.

Uhhhh in my opinion unless you ski at a hill with less then 500ft of vertical and it's nighttime you should be wearing goggles, however in the spring when it's hot as fuck I like to wear my pit vipers or just sunglasses in general are nice when it's hot out. I guess it's personal preference... kinda but I like to see where I'm going

I hate using them in the park. Sunglasses is the way to go.

I hate the feeling of bulky goggles and a helmet weighing my head down and throwing my balance off. I feel way more comfortable and less likely to eat shit when I don't have that stuff on my head.

Bulky goggles, weighing your head down? What is your neck made out of?

I only wear sunnies unless I'm riding powder, it's dumping snow, or I'm cold. Idk. So used to working that I just started keeping my sunnies on more than goggles and then just stopped wearing them.

If you're digging ever in the spring/summer it's so much nicer.

I love wearing clear goggles at night! So much fun! No more teary eyes and I can ski as fast as I want even when it's bone cold.

I only wear goggles if its snowing, if im skiing deep snow or if it's below 20F degrees, otherwise sunglasses, which is about 80% of the time. It doesnt get that cold in utah.

I haven’t worn goggles in two years lol. I hate the restriction of them. Even when snowguns are on I don’t wear them that’s how much I don’t like them.

Snowguns are just about the only time I take mine off. Otherwise the snow sticks to my lens and I end up with a snow fort on my face

I wear goggles no matter the time of day, at night I can see fine it's just a little bit dark but I doesn't affect my performance

I skied the entire season last year without goggles and it was actually really fun. I would switch it up with a variation of sunglasses and safety glasses.

I once wore tactical goggles

For those who don't use goggles, just how slow are you skiing? If I'm going at any decent speed, I have to have goggle otherwise my eyes start watering.

Idk man, just do it for a while and you get used to it. Honestly wear shades all the time unless it's stupidly cold or it's a pow day. I ride very fast sometimes down groomers, doesn't bother me. Sometimes you get some slush or snow in them and I wipe em on my tshirt but seems to be the way to go.

I used to go back and forth a bit but don't think I'll rock goggles much in the future.

My local hill isn't very big and I mostly ride park so the speeds don't get that fast. That's why I only wear goggles when it's snowing or very windy. I'm not sure if my goggles just suck or what but I feel like they limit my vision a bit. Maybe I should look into some better goggles. Any suggestions?

Wait why wouldn't you wear goggles? I guess if you ski at night i could see that. But on sunny, even cloudy days without goggles would be shitty. Plus you have to get the badass mirrored one to keep you mysterious

I do like wearing goggles but Im constantly adjusting/wiping them which gets really annoying. Tried a pair of clear safety goggles at the end of last season, excited to use them more this year, see how I like it

I wear them all the time unless it's like hailing or something then I use safety glasses so I dont fuck up my lenses scraping the ice off. Also when its really warm out I'll wear sunglasses.

I hate riding park with goggles now, they cut peripheral vision to much, i used to wear them no matter what but not any more. Even sunglasses i only use when its bright. Safetyglasses are good if snowguns are on at night.

In addition to goggles being awesome for all of the above reasons, they protect your eyes from getting stabbed by sticks if you ski in the trees. Imagine smashing your face, specifically the eye area, on a rail; goggles could prevent or at least lessen damage to your eyes and surrounding area (assuming they're not crappy ones that will shatter).

I used these more than 60 days last year. gotta play ball/ thread

If its snowing, I'll wear goggles no question. If its sunny, then shades. If its not sunny and there's no precipitation, then neither.
