k even though the problem is solved.
in the future, update the itunes and download the " ipod reset utility from apple or google. this will put your shuffle back to factory settings. then when you do your first sync, it will ask how you want to sync it, and click the box that says temporary or something i kind of forget. at the bottom, it sayd update from file: music, change it to your playlist.
that or just delete all the songs from your ipod and open the ipod in another window and just drag the music from itunes to the other ipod itunes window. blah, madd confusing my bad
