Goals for the season

at the beginning of every season i set goals of things i want to get down by the end of the season. it gives you motivation to get out there and push yourself. it works for me.

1. lincoln loop

2.backflip (thats first cuz it loks mad easy haha)

3. more variations on rails

and 4. cork 3.. if you have any tips on these throw them at me.

also post some of your goals

Buy a beacon and slay the BC in many forms. Do new things that haven't been done on urban rails or certain urban rails haha. Then hopefully by the end of the season be satisfied with my progression in the park as well.

7

maybe 9's

sw 5

couple hits at my mountain i want to do as well.

i want to learn all my tricks really well and not in the park, but of natural stuff and booters.

great thread +++karma

last season was my first time on a mountain i got about 25 days and never once went in a park but was very focused on progressing my skiing throughout the entire mountain. i did very well but in the off season with only newschoolers to feed my skiing obsession it seems like all i can think about is park now. i just bought a new set of skis ar5's and will be selling my single tipped set from last year. i have really good body control and style off of diving boards, tramps, or cliff jumpings so i am hoping to progress alot this season especially since i wont be going to school but will still be living in boulder

soooo my goals

1. to feel comfortable hitting any jump regular or switch. and i stress comfortable i want it to feel natural flying through the air

2. backflip off of any jump (should be fine, i rock at backflips)

3. i want to be able to throw stylish and smooth 5s both regular and switch

4. to attack rails and slide them with confidence. rails are less important to me than jumps but i want to be comfortable with hitting any rail by the end of season

lofty goals i know but im dedicated and have the time to achieve them hopefully everything works out

its great to hear everyones goals for the season and good luck to everyone achieving them

i need to throw switch better so thats up there

also maybe double backs and double fronts and get more solid on rails

good thread, i always do this too

1. drop a cliff bigger than any i have before (over 40')
2. both switch 5's off a cliff
3. hopefully both cork 7s off a cliff, but we'll see
4. learn double flips
5. place well in the extremes
6. try and get a sponsor

last season i didnt really have the chance to learn anything new on jumps because of some injuries so next year i want to

-be super consant with spins with grabs

- learn different pretzel variations

-get better at switch and unnatural tricks

id like all 4 7s and 3 of the 9s excluding sw unnat cuase thats kinda far off and id like kangaroo flips and maybe a cork 10 also

get better at unnatural is a big one for me get my style super dialed take all of my stuff the biggest features in my park and also to some natural features and have fun

good thread, I thought about making the same thing...

my goals:

back flip

lincoln loop

720

'up hill' switch ups on a down rail

fall a lot less than I did in my first season

1. not get hurt like last season

2. Have as much fun as possible

3. Ski pow

4. Grabs with tricks

5. Backflips

1. All four 3's

2. 5's with a grab

3. 7's

4. Pretzels, more rail variation in general.

5. Kinked rails

6. Backflip, maybe some other inverted tricks if I'm feeling up to it.

I've spent every other season 80%+ in the backcountry. Unless I move out west my progression there isn't going to be all that noticeable.. I plan on spending a lot of time in the park this year, I can't wait.

Skicross goals:

- come top 3 in ontario

- perform well at nationals

- come top 10 at Telus Spin at Tremblant in March

Other skiing goals:

-enjoy myself and just have an awesome time with friends and maybe ski some pow

1. have fun

2. have more fun

3. both sw 7's

4. ski the east, colorado, go to bear 3 times not 2 times, and hang out in Whitefish more.

I do this too. At the end of each season I write down my goals for next season. Last year I acclompished all of my goals and then some.

1. Place at big mountain comp

2. switch 720

3. 900

4. double backflip

5. lincoln loop

6. rodeo 720

7. misty 720

8. flat 540

9. cork

10. grabs and style

Tuck Jump
Pike Jump
Strattle Jump (But with good practice and strtching first)

and if im feeling up to it: Switch 10's, 810 out, right 7's, top 2 in Jib Academy, some other shenanigans (for real)

1. finally graduate college after what feels like an eternity even though im only a semester late

2. move to a ski town for the first time in my life and ski every single day

3. learn all the tricks within my immediate ability level that ive wanted to for the last 2 or 3 years since i got into park skiing, but havent had the time or the location resources to get any real practice in because ive been going to school in fucking virginia. two weeks a year at various REAL mountains just isnt enough to get good when you start as late as i did.

4. progress, progress, progress, progress as quickly as possible. after about a week of getting into ski shape, try a new trick every day for a month if possible. shake out the cobwebs and the fear associated with trying tricks on mid-atlantic sheets of concrete ice. ive noticed after every trip to colorado or tahoe that i improve as much in 3 or 4 days as i do after a whole season in VA and PA skiing every weekend. i cant imagine how much ill progress with 100+ days of riding in legit conditions if i set my mind to it.

5. ski a fuckload of trees and powder as well...buying some fatties in about a month.

6. oh, and meet a lot of cool people and have the best year of my life

maybe some corks

fuuuuuuck

i want to ski every run on my mountain. ive been here 3 winters, and havent done quite everything yet. some hike-to chutes, and some gnarlier stuff that ive just never gotten around to doing.

i want to get a hundred days. ive got like 75, 60, 85 the last 3 winters. gotta step it up.

i want to bust more 1's and 3's off random windlips and shit while cruising around

flips

9's w/ grabs

sw.7 w/grabs

more rail variations

cork 7 (maby cork 9?)
