Hey!

In case you didn't know there's an election this Tuesday in the U.S. (Sorry canadians) Alot hangs in the balance on this one including control of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

Some real shit could finally get done in the U.S. if the chamberschange hands after this election, so go vote on Tuesday! (or die as P Diddy would have you believe)

there will never be an election where it my vote would be a deciding vote so going to the polls is really just a waste of time.

ummm that is the dumbest thing you can say, what if everyone thought that, or even just a few hundred people...please dont argue in political forums like i have seen you do if youre not going to even vote when yu have the ability to do it

You guys have the most pathetic attitudes ever. Seriously, if you don't vote you don't deserve the same rights as everyone else.

Main reason i wouldnt waste my time is i would get there and have no idea what i actually want to vote for, i have no political knowledge at all. I hope to learn more then vote, but if i had to now, i dont think i would.

yes, i agree. but i am getting tired of voting for the lesser of two idiots, we need real candidates.

There are some great candidates out there this year depending on where you live.

im an american, and im frakly digusted by the laziness of fellow americans. first off, everyone always has something to coplain about when it comes to politics. but how many people take action? My history teacher said that only about 60% of elligible voters turned out for the last presidential election. we have no threat of death if we go to vote, we are a completely free country, whats stopping you? do you rrealize that the iraqi voter turnout was above 90% in their last primary election? you may not have known that their fingers were marked with unremovable ink that only came off when their skin died. many iraqis walked miles on end to the voting polls, along with the threat of death from the taliban. they were vulnerable targets to any terrorists who saw them, yet they still risked it for their freedom. as americans, we have taken it for granted, and gotten quite lazy. i dont respect people who dont vote because "their vote wont make a difference" yet they still sit there and complain and say the government sucks and its corrupt blah blah blah. get off your asses and go vote this upcoming thursday. and if you dont, please do us all a faor and dont complain.

There are alot of great candidates to choose from, as well as a lot of really sucky ones too. It's not hard at all to find out who you want to vote for, just google a candidate's name and you can easily find information on the person. If you don't know who the candidates are, you can usually check your state's Secretary of State's webpage to find out the local candidates in your area.

I can't wait to vote down this bitch:

I also can't wait to vote for the proposal that would get rid of affirmative action in the state of michigan.

As far as senate races and whatnot, I don't really care. The government is so full of red tape it doesnt matter who is in control. We'll have the same problems.

not gonna happen, you do realize that in almost every election there is someone who bases their campaign off of drugs alchohal right....they win about as often as the communist party

Modern politics create attitudes like yours in people who refuse to think. If you gave a little thought to this problem you'd come to realize that it's in the campaigning efforts that the cadidates make each other look bad. Instead of pointing out why you should vote for them, they come up with reasons to not vote for the opposition, thus creating the lesser of two evils attitude common among the less informed. Go ahead and don't vote, but by doing so you're giving up any right you had to complain about the government or express any sort of political opinion.

no, not at all. I am saying that there aren't any real thinkers in government anymore, nobody in the government today could be even compared to any founding father.

Yeah, for the small percentage of people over 18 on this site, please vote. If you do, and your candidate doesnt get elected, you're allowed to whine for 4 years about how things would be better if he/she had won.
