Go Pro Line of the Winter Scam

Just when we all thought Go Pro was going to tidy up their mess of a contest after botching two seasons of holding it on the MTB side of things, I was disappointed to see they awarded Leo with 3 monthly wins and the overall.

There were so many deserving skiers out there with not much money who deserved the win and Go Pro decides to give all the money to ONE skier. ONE skier that lest we forget, won 20k last year from the same contest! This is almost as bad as electing their sponsored pro riders as winners like they did for the MTB version of this contest/scam.

Yeah he had cool lines but really Go Pro? How about you spread the wealth to the amateurs who really want to "go pro". If anything this will discourage talented regular skiers knowing they're going to be beat out by a pro with unlimited funding and resort cooperation.

GoPro is GoPro, and they decided Leo had the best lines, said and done. Should they make the contest exempt for pros? I don't think so, and yes having the same person win is boring but it takes a lot of effort to pull of these videos. Pretty fair in my opinion. I do agree that the money should be split to possibly top 3, 10k, 7k, 3k, but that's up to GoPro.

Leo doesn't have unlimited funding and is currently working a construction job to save for next winter. I can't speak for the mountain bike side of things, but in skiing, I don't know a more perfect person than Leo for this type of contest. He literally does crazy ski stuff like this everyday and it's crazy to watch in person.

I do agree winner take all format is not the best and having the same person win multiple months can get stale, but from what I've seen, he deserved the over all win both years no question.
