Go-pro fever

Hah, actually it's called GoPro because in surfing, the only way you could get shots of you surfing is if you were Pro! Had to have a photographer with a crazy long lense shooting you, or someone with an expensive water housing! With the new 'GoPro' you could shoot photos of yourself from your wrist! This was back when they were like little disposable cameras in a waterproof housing on your wrist. hahah classic!
 
Here's the deal - it abbbbsolutely does not matter how good you are, people are alllllways gonna be stoked to watch themselves or their friends on film. One day when I switched to snowboarding, i was the worst person in the world but i was like 'Oh man! I want my gopro out here to show everyone back at the house me carvin it up!' We all were once at that level and no matter how bad or good we are, it's always sick to see vid of us in action. Let's stop the judging and the hate and let kids be stoked that it's now easy to get shots on film!
The only time I laugh is when I see kids doing follows but they are about 45 feet away going down the hill, and then ask why their edit doesn't look like GoPro's edits.. hah, but that just takes practice!
 
they're pretty dope if you actually are capable of doing shit worth filming

dudes who ski groomers and straight air booters while wearing a helmet cam and all the top of the line ski gear that mommy and daddy can afford = lol
 
and the "hardcore" go pro users will proceed to justify their commitment by inserting in their posts how long they have had their go pro for, then again i got one on Christmas, go pro noob ftw
 
i am not against people getting gopros that streght air jumps, im just not happy when one person has one on his head, one on a chest mount, and one on a stick behind him and top out on streght airing 15s.
 
What is the problem with people filming their runs, do you think that pro skiers are bitching about you having your gopro? sure not because nobody cares, as long as we are happy with what we are doing....
 
i tried to get a POV with my regular camera today and i was holding it in front of me and i aciidentaly started skiing switch in the pow and i dropped the camera. but then i found it
 
seriously! i remember when i was way younger skiing moguls and just starting to ski park my brothers, friends, and i would film each other and make movies for us to watch. shit was mad fun even though we were doing 360s and twister spreads and shit. it's not like anyone's forcing you guys to watch the edits of kids straight airing jumps with their gopro, so quit being such little bitches about it.

now if they're hyping their edit of them doing straight airs in the forums, you can probably bitch. and most of you that are hating probably aren't good anyways.
 
when you say 20-30 footers, you mean park jumps? probably right.

If someone is stomping 20-30 foot cliffs though, sure as fuck they can have a gopro and you shouldn't bitch about it.

Really though I just think you're pissed someone who isn't as good a skier as you (maybe) is going to go home and watch footy of them and their friends having an awesome time while you go and post on NS about it.
 
Aha, yes. After a little while I'm sure it does get boring to watch straight airs, which I'm sure inspires them to progress, or maybe to just go bigger. Either way, they're having fun
 
i dont know what there is to be upset about, they're only like 170$ at costo and they are perfect for skiing, how can you be mad at kids who go a gopro for xmas and are probably stoked out of their minds?

i think its pretty cool that a bunch of kids have them, i think someone said it above (cant remember who) but filming yourself just shredding is so much fun.
 
It doesn't matter if they are pro and ski everyday.

It doesn't matter if it's their first day skiing.

It doesn't matter if they care or don't care about skiing.

It doesn't matter if they have a gopro or not.

They're just living their life.

This thread blows my mind that people are arguing about a stupid fucking camera. Camera's have been around for like a 100 years. Pretty sure my fucking dog could use one. Who gives a SHIT if they are using a mini one while riding or a big ass one while not riding?

You all need to get a fucking life and let people live theirs. The same way gapers can wear the same pants as Bobby Brown they can have a gopro too.
 
we have about 10 at sundown. its gettin a little ridiculous, i saw some scrub ass snowboarder who was rippin green circles with his go pro the other day.
 
it is called market dissemination boys, the more people have em the less special it is, but the less it will cost. They are great for families that want to relive their holiday over and over again and share via youtube. Be happy for them and just don't get one if you don't want it to get too big...

 
It's the commercials that are on all day. Also they are pretty sick. A quick hint for anyone that has one or is getting one: absolutely do not use one-button mode. It WILL corrupt your videos.
 
lol i got my 2nd gopro for xmas this year, they are good little cameras for the price. and they take some sick shots . i overshot a jump yesterday and i got it on my camera, its pretty funny.
 
Not gonna lie.... I got one for christmas and have only been skiing for like a year now tops. I suck I am the one who airs the booters and what not. I cna 270 off a rail at times but thats it and maybe 360 but thats all. U know what I say? Fuck haters its soo much fun and you get other ppl not only urself
 
I think lots of people use go pros for biking or surfing then even if they r not tht good at skiing they use it anyways cause they already have it
 
i saw at least 5 kids today who all suck who got 1 and about 2 guys whoa re good who got one and i saw a couple old lays and a old guy with them along wiht a guy with 2 contours on his helmet.....

mine will be on my doorstep thursday. then im going to hit the mountain then flood the video section with straight airs and big turns on the groomers just to piss you narks off.
 
I just got mine and just noticed how many kids have them i counted like 15 today and some guy from the lift was like GGOOOOO PROOOOO and i lold
 
Took mine out for a spin today in some pow. Gonna check peep the footy real soon. I kind of agree. I am entertained by POV edits from people that actually do shit that are worthwhile to watch. Not the whole crusin groomer bullshit.
