ok, remember when the oilers won the stanley cup 2 years in a row, twice. And then they did it again the year after the flames won there only stanley. And wait, how are the flames doing in these playoffs anyways? oh yah yah shit, they didnt make it past the first round, rough. well good luck next year flamers.

so theres this kid and in this class they were going around asking what their parents did for a living, so when this kids turn comes he says, "my dad... takes his closes of for a living. hes a male stripper". so of course the teacher was just chocked. so after class shes asks her student. "is your dad really a male stripper?" and he kid said "No but its less embarrasing then telling everyone my dad plays for the Calgary flames"
 
i've heard that joke but it was edmonton oilers intstead of the flames, i would find it funnier if the kid's dad played for st. louis though
 
canes take it, oilers goal disalowed in game 6 making them lose the series and riots erupt in edmonton while us calgarians laughta at u
 
i predict they will loose in game 7. but i hope not

last time i told everyone the flames were gonna loose in game 7 or the finals right when they made it into the playofs
 
i predict the whole series will be lost for the oilers because of someone getting a delay of game penalty for shooting the puck over the glass, i will say that hemsky gets the penalty

ANyone remember that promotional video the flames made years ago with all the old flames dinosaurs, like lanny, and the young neidermeyer.... They lip synced the worst song pretty much ever. And they all pretended to play instruments and it was terrible, but they used as a pump up before the play-offs and then they won the stanely cup. It was a lame video, but its a fuckiing hilarious chuckle when you watch it now.

i dont want either team to win, i was cheering for buff in the east final and anaheim in the west, o well as long as edmonton loses i am happy

wai how many times did the flames even make the playoffs throughout the 90's and early 2000'?? yah i think oilers were in there almost eveyr year but like 2 or 3 flames just werent well maybe like the odd appearance
 
ya flames team sucks, we had as many goals as teams like chicago and pitsburg, the only thing that saved us was kipper, we need to get rid of a lot of people, and get some guys who can actually score and play entertaining hockey

Oilers in 7, its gonna be epic!

in comparing whyte to 17th. the part of whyte that matters is maybe 4 blocks long. it is in that much space that we have packed 30 000 people post game, and it is not as easy as in calgary to get to whyte. 17th intersects the saddledome, so any drunk can get there no problem,(um.. how do we find a bar? says the guy leaving the saddledome, um, walk straight.) yet here in Edmonton where there is a little work to get to the party(ie, the other side of the city), we still manage to out party you. So what if some people set some fires here. I recall some shit happening in Calgary on your redmile too, and hey, whats a party without some fire!!! We have the loudest fans in the league, the best guy, I mean stadium full of people singing the national anthem. The team itself is not one of the lowest scoring teams in the league, aka the most boring to watch. I'll admit that whoever created the bluemile.com website, is freaken lame, and has no imagination whatsoever, and should move back to calgary to work in his redmile website. Unfortunatly the party and t&a is not in Calgary right now.

As far as the city itself goes, having driven both frequently, calgary in rush hour is far worse. when there is little to no traffic the roads work great. but there is a shitload of people driving in Calgary. We also, I believe, have the most greenspace in any city in north america for those times that arn't winter. And our music scene is freaken rediculous! I won't even try to compare the two. It would be like comparing the Oilers to the Flamers.... Oh wait....he he, oops. As far as skiing goes, Calgary has COP, and is closer to the mountains, but the mountains arn't in calgary are they? Edmonton has three hills within city limits, as well as Rabbit and tawatina a short drive away. so basically 5 minutes from where ever you live is a ski hill. and hey, if you can't have fun on any ski hill, you arn't good enough. I could go on, but I've lost my train of thought.

sorry about the length of this post, I've been busy with life off of the computer. I await some response, but probably won't be back anytime soon to read them. ciaobella
