Gnarliest fall

Post up your best fall and what happened. Mine was today on somebody elses skis. I went off a little booter and spotted my landing but I went a little to far to the left and landed straight on top of a rock. I double ejected and the skis are fine except for the edges. Anyways it was fun.

Now lets hear yours.

i did a stepup today and 180'd, then the snow was soft and deep and i fell over and had a quick catnap. there were no rocks.

ummmmm

the coolest looking crash would have to be.....

this one time at northstar when i tried to do the transfer with 2 tables and 180 it but i came up short and landed straight into the side of the landing lol didnt get real hurt but it looked funny

then the worst was like 2 weeks ago when i broke my ankle

oh wait,

this one time at chads gap, i was hitting it switch at like 90 miles an hour and i came up short and broke both my ankles.

it was in all the movies last year.

my favorite crash would have to be at beartooh pass in WY.. i did a 360 on their table and knuckled it, but the force of me knuckeling sent me off into a front flip down the landing, since the landing was steep shit, i did a front after i knuckeld (cuz of the force) and landed it clean. i was pissed i didnt get it on video. it was soo cool.

why would you try and clear a rock that is off to the side of a jump out of the way...doesnt seem like a good idea to me

well last year i just got to my mountain with a new jump so being my dumbass i self i went full speed over this jump after a bunch of noobs fucked the landing...so i cleared the tabletop and landed in a ditch in the landing fell on my back, blacked out for a couple seconds and then was in pain from my twintips nailing my back for weeks later...

yeah its pretty rtared i know

Last March at Telluride I hit a decent table in the park. Solid 360 mute but i guess I didn't get my skis straightened out because I caught the outside edge of my left ski and it twisted in hard. Tore my ACL and meniscus season over, had surgery in july back on the mountain after New Year.

last year i tried to cork 3 the biggest kicker at snowbird and i caught a edge landed on my head and woke up in the hospital and spent the next week there and the next 3 months out of school :)

Probably when i 5ed the 60ft at high north and came up like 3 feet short and bounced down the landing. Or overshooting the 60ft at PC a couple seasons ago and tearing my acl. Or maybe the time i was hitting this weak down rail urban at Sun Valley and i didnt get any speed and caught my ski and tumbled down the stairs. There are many other hitting-head falls and such, but yeah they all suck.

i aired a little rock the oyher day and double e'd upon impact i tomahawked twice it was cool, i have since raised my din a considerable amount

ya... that was dumb fall straight air and everything

really pretty much the biggest jump i've ever hit though being from Taos and all

buttering in liftline, forgot i turned down din for urban, double eject and smoked my face on the ground, split my lip. i felt fucking cool after that.

because i ride a din of 9.5 in the park, and were i to fall down a stairset and get my ski caught, id tear my acl at that din.

I tried a cork 3 on about a 40 footer, ate shit and I blacked out for like 20 seconds it sucked and I was sore for like 2 weeks

i didnt quite go far enough for this one 40 foot box i caught my back ski on the begining, did the splits and fell of to hit my head. two pulled groins and a concusion

wow, i was just gonna post something like this. today i went off a jump and tried a 360 but landed too far forward and caught and edge and did a face plant. oh and im pretty sure i seperated my shoulder, not terribly but i cant raise my arm above my my chest so i definetly fucked something up

last year at springs everyone kept landing in the flat of the first kicker. so i decided to not be a bitch and go balls to the wall: bombed in the inrun squatting to build up max speed, realized the lip was considerably steeper then it looked from the top of the hill, kinda just flailed helplessly in the air for what felt like 10 seconds, landed 3/4 of the way down the landing...complete yardsale...skis hat, goggles, poles, the works. it didnt really hurt but i looked pretty mitch for sure

I was skiing on a day with bad snow and went down a run that shouldn't have been open...anyway was straightlining to the chair going pretty quick when I hear this huge crack and feel my right leg just stop and before I knew it went flying over the front of my skis into the snow. I was winded for a bit but got up and skied to the lift. When I try to get off the lift I feel my right ski dragging like crazy. When I look at it I see I've punched a hole through the core of my Karmas. All I can think is that I must have hit a pointy rock under the snow, but even my friend skiing behind me didn't see it. To do that much damage to a solid ski it must have been a rock though. After I sat for a while it became harder to breathe and I later found I'd bruised my lung. But by far the worst part was falling like that in front of the lift queue!

Veryah niceah!

Mine was overshoting a little table when I was 15, landing flat and knocking my self out; major concusion with memory loss of that day for about 3 months, premanately tweaked shoulder and I skined the inside on my mouth below my lower lip with my teeth... that sucked.

i love it when i got for backies off small jumps and the tips of my skis just dont quite make it around and i faceplant

o yea and nutting myself on rails is a reeeeeeeeeeaaaaally good time also

Well there was the superman with no skis, landing on my head on a 30 footer (trying a cork?), landing on the edge of my ski which still is super painful after a month, landing on my ass and my rectum bled, slipping off a cliff and getting stuck in a tree upside down, etc.

alright this happened a few days ago. My friends and I were doing a christmas eve jib and we didnt plan it so well. We made the inrun extremley short and flat and the jump very, very small. Anyways I go and catch my ski on the front of our rail and fall thus sacking myself on the rail. OH but the fun doesnt end there, I then proceed into a faceplant on the rail and my lifeless body continues to slide along the rail.

see my pictures, i think i have a picture at the moment of impact for the faceplant

i was at whistler and we got off the harmony chair and went straight out to where piccolo and stuff is and we hiked this one face and the light was really really flat and u couldn't see well, and my goggles were dark so it made it worse so i was trying to get alotta speed after we skied the face so i would have enough speed for the long road back to the lift and i hit some kinda indentation or some kinda hole thing, idk i never really saw it so i double ejected out, front flip...went through my pole landed on my palm breaking my wrist went skiing the next day after they put a cast on but i missed like 2 or 3 months of my baseball season, kinda gay

Suprised there aren't any horrible pipe crashes yet. On Christmas I decked from only like 4-5 feet out, but proceeded to drop into the middle never touching the wall. Slid a good 15 feet down the tranny on my face and side. Results, mad case of snow burn and an exploded binding.

In the pipe funny enough, I did a 3 and came down and my rear din was low or something cause I poped out going switch, fell and slid down my ski. the edges were burred to shit and it sliced me pretty good. it wasnt even that cool of a fall, it just sucked. This was like 2 years ago.

In Jackson last year at the beggining of january, it was a solid waist deep day, jumped off a little 10ft in the hobacks, landed to far foward double ejected flipped a couple times landed ina small tree hole, really disorienting

this isn't a ski fall but this summer i was tryin to smith around a corner in a tall pool on my skateboard. i caught in the coping and was thrown to the opposite wall. i landed on one foot moving sideways and downwards and my knee was bent at an angle. i ended up turning it inside out and completely tearing my LCL, MCL, and meniscus. i had to have some gnarly-ass reconstruction. https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/pictures/id/107826/member_id/48599/ the doctor's said i couldn't ski this year, but i was just cleared to start jan 21 and im goin to breck in a few months.
