Mittens for skiing on all but the balmiest spring days for those I have some unlined waterproof gloves I use for work.

I have spring gore tex gloves for most days (with very minimal insulation), and mitts when it's really cold or pow days.

Easily mitts, much warmer and in my opinion more comfortable.
