Hello All,

I am wanting to get 2 new pairs of gloves one for cold and deep powder and another for every other day.

I am thinking the

- Dakine Diablo gore tex mitt for cold days

- Dakine Kodiak for everyday

or

- Hesta Army leather short gore tex for everyday

What do you think on choices and what would you choose

cheers

Brent

I was gonna suggest something else but checked out those Diablo mitts and they look dope. The shell protects the down liner from getting shredded. They should be uber warm, and having the gloved liner also is helpful cuz it works with cell phone touch screens and it's always good to have a glove for when you take your mitts off to access stuff. I had to purchase thin gloves to go under my down mittens. I do wonder if the gloves shift around a lot having three layers in there. My only criticism is I wish the down fill weight was more (650g is still adequate) and there's no strings to hook your mittens to your jacket. My mittens have strings and that way you don't gotta worry about holding them on the lift if you take em off. You could always get some paracord and make your own string ties tho.

If I were you tho, I'd skip the hestra or dakine gloves and save $$ by getting some Kincos as your everyday glove. They're super warm, cheap, durable, and look great.

I struggled for years with fingers going numb (even in 30 deg weather) and after wasting money on so many decent gloves, ended up dropping some cash on down mittens. They were my go to until I got Kinco gloves last year. I use the Kincos for almost everyday and bring out the mittens when the temps drop below 10-15F. Also saved me last year from rain. Could not be happier.

I just scored a pair of Baist mittens before Christmas. They've been as warm as my Hestras or my Marmot Patrol Glove and around 2/3 the price. Have worn them on some brutally cold days here in the NE and they're been fine. Come with liners so that helps and price is as low as you'll find. So far, no durability issues.

If there is anything that you already need from Level 1 Productions shop, they currently have a deal where certain items include free Level 1 x Wells Lamont leather mitts. I got a pair with my Spy Aces that I ordered from them and for being free (I was buying the goggles either way) it was a steal.

I also won the Fischer giveaway that day and got a ton of other stuff lol. The free mitts are a steal already though. They are very nice and they are pretty warm but they are breathable. I find them perfect for park.

Don't wanna be a complete buzzkill, but what I rock for really cold days are either kinco gloves or mitts. They are so much warmer than the average glove/mitt, coming in at a fraction of the cost of a hestra, 25$, including the snoseal to make them water proof

All the gloves I have bought (dakine, pow) have fallen apart on me. I'm sick if spending $60 a glove.

Gonna be getting some kincos now

I used to live out in CO and I had the same pair of kinco gloves and they lasted me for 4 years. Honestly the best investment of money, I bought a refresh pair of mittens and gloves and spent 40 bucks and they should last me for a while
