ahh damn I hate these people who say u are left coz u care about environment. Btw u are stupid i swear in a couple years the envrionment will be a republican subject
 
yes, near were i live we used to be able to ski in scotland, now we pretty much cant, its almost wiped out skiing in the UK
 
well i heard we will all die in approx. 2 days and 6hours, hehe no im only kidding, yes i kinda agree, my stepmom works for the government in this and she tries to create ways to help the environment and ways to deal with global warming and all, but i dont know enough about it to really have argument one way or the other
 
Yes, global warming is happening, and it is having an effect on ski resorts.

I cannot understand how anyone who has even the slightest interest in this can still not believe it, the evidence is simply overwhelming.
 
Yes...it is bad for our sport. Look at the glaciers, they are melting fast. Our weather is fucked, i live in norther Ontario canadam and we get less and less snow every year. You can see it.

All this bullshit about our cars, industry, and aircraft not having an effect is bullshit. The earth is not doing this natually.....and only bad will come out of it. You think huricanes are bad now.....just wait.
 
Yes global warming is causing warmer years every year. Over all the world is warmer, and what are epic seasons in the PCNW would not have been considered epic 15 years ago or so.
 
no. i feel that while global warming is taking an effect on weather patterns to some degree, it is not changing things that quickly. unfortunatley we have strange weather patterns that repeat themselves every now and then, and lately i think it is just bad luck, and the blatent homosexuality of el nino. however i think that if things are not done, global warming will continue to escalate and become a larger and more profound problem.
 
i bet you wont be saying that when your mountain is a pile of dirt. everyone should go see Al Gores new movie about global warming and the effect we're having on the world
 
I live in utah and while we have been having sick snow, we have also been seeing negative affects that may be a cause of global warming. Seasonal temps in the last 5 years have increased during spring time. While we have the snowpack to fight it, our spring skiing is going to continuously get shorter and shorter.
 
i dont think so.... humans have only been recording wheather for a short amount of time, we cant say thats it's for sure happening.
 
yea but we can tell what the weather was doing hundreds of thousans of years ago. there are so many methods of research that you combine together to create a picture of what happened it the past. i mentioned the ways in earlier posts. obviously it impossible to know for sure because the essence of nature is that there are inheirently going to be anomolies and variations from the typical patterns. but from the data that we have been able to aquire all sources point to humans altering the upper atmosphere increaseing the green house effect

1. the sun emits infared radiation (heat energy) towards the earth, it passes through the atmosphere and hit the earth.

2. some radiation is absorbed by the earth keeping it warm enough for us to survive like it always has and some is reflected off the surface; heading back out to space like it always has. the difference comes in the next steps

3. when the radiaton was reflected out into space 1000 years ago it would continue and disperese through the galaxy. now with the introdution on MOREEEE greenhouse gases CO2 methane gases created by industry, the radiation is trapped by these gases in the upper atmosphere (stratasphere i think) and is RE EMITED down upon earth again, some more is absorbed, reflects back up but is re emited. this cause more heat from the sun to be trapped on earth then would have before humans created the greenhouse effect. (note: cfcs and the ozone hole are not related to global warming) this is scientific FACT. NONE DEBATEABLE. it is proven in chemistry, based upon the charachteristic of these gases and the essence of heat that this WILL happen when these gases are put into the atmosphere. that is global warming, it in its self is a PROVEN FACT to occur, no scientist, president group of any intelligence denys that. the question andd debate is the effects of it, whether the recent spike in global mean temperature since the industrial revolution is due to global warming enitirely, somewhat or not at all. that is the question here. I think it is entirely responsible due to the fact the earth is in a natural cooling cycle and could possibly be entering an ice age right now if it wasnt for global warming. but dont say global warming istn real cause its proven
