Global Warming Is Real

Someone before said there's never been as much CO2 in the atmosphere as there is now. That's not exactly true. Its at its highest level in about 650,000 years, a statistic which is quoted relentlessly by warmists in support of their agenda. In truth its not even relevant. They have failed to link the level of CO2 with temperature rise. There have been periods in the earth's past where CO2 was 10 times what it is now with no impact on the temperature.
Likewise, someone said that the temperature increase in the last 100 years has been the most rapid ever. That's very far from the truth. The net increase in temperature throughout the ENTIRE 20th century was cancelled out by the cooling in ONE YEAR (2007). Oh, but the rate of change was so high, they claim. No, not that either. The rate of warming in the warming periods in the 20th century (post WW1 and post 1975) wasn't outside natural variations. Nowhere near it actually.
I suggest you watch this series of videos:
Its by no means a comprehensive overview of the entire debate but it does tackle one of the cornerstones of the AGW debate: CO2. Bob Carter has written many books and he's one of the most highly respected scientists in the world. If you want to fact check his data, go for it.
Oh, and another thing. Don't let warmists give you the "warmest year since records began" argument. Official records began in about 1850 which, as we know, was the end of a cool period in the earth's climate. Of course temperatures increased from there. If you walk up a set of stairs you expect to be higher at the end that you were at the start.

No, he is not.

There are very few issues as completely one sided as global warming. Climatologists are almost completely united in the belief that it is happening. There are a couple who disagree, John Cristy comes to mind, the the scientific community is overwhelming behind the idea that global warming is occurring. Most of the scientists who are against it have ties to the oil industry. Cristy is not involved with those folks, but he is one of the few.

Al Gore would have made a much better leader then the idiot( who could not even break 1200 on his SAT's despite an Andover education) you voted for.

One more thing: Climategate turned out to be bogus. The scientists in England got their jobs back. 6 different panels examined their work, and all came to the conclusion that no data was doctored. The conservative idiots should have waited for the verdict before running their mouths.

Actually, I think Bush got 1210 on his boards. That would recenter to about 1270, after the mid-90's recentering. Regardless, it is not enough to be the leader of our nation.

If you want to be with Joe the Plumber, deny global warming. If you want to be with the professors of the world, acknowledge its existence.

Umm...no. The AGW debate isn't one sided. Let's break down what you said one item at a time.
Al Gore - He may not be an idiot but his film was found to have 9 serious errors in it by the British High Court, so much so that it cannot be shown in schools without the teacher discussing the errors, by law. He was also recently caught paying "carbon offsets" into a fund of which he himself is a manager. If this happened in the regular commercial world he would be in jail right now.
You say that climatologists are almost completely united on this issue. Wrong again. This claim comes from a study described at this link:http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/..._to_make_97_per_cent_of_climate_experts_agree
I wont repeat it here...you can read for yourself. The other problem with that claim is that climatologists are not the only ones who can hold a professional opinion on this issue. Im no going to say "follow the money" or anything like that, but rather consider that the geological science area generally opposes the theory of AGW. These people are usually left out of IPCC reports. Its called selective reporting. Not science.
You claim the "climategate" scandal turned out to be nothing. Not quite. I have a published copy of every single one of those emails that were leaked. There is some very, very serious stuff in there concerning the tampering of records and discussing ways to bury opposing scientific studies. Of huge interest was the statement that it was a "travesty" that they couldn't account for the cooling of the last 10-11 years. You said that 6 independent panels reviewed the situation and found nothing wrong. That was a gross compromise of the process itself, mostly involving mates backing up each others' work. They were very careful not to put anyone with anything close to a sceptical view on those panels. To put it simply, they still haven't answered one question: If the science is so clear cut then why did they need to act this way towards opposing views? Why not just be honest?

Everyone is jumping on the global warming bandwagon saying things like "if you don't think it's real you're an idiot" blah blah blah.. "all the climatologists agree" . If I was a climatologist and I wanted some research funding to do on some ice recession bullshit in the north I'd agree that global warming is real too. You see something in the news and you become yes men, climate change is happening but there is no direct link between Co2 and a longterm catastrophic warming trend.
It is extremely difficult, nearly impossible to get accurate, weather data/records that go back more than a hundred years throughout much of the world and the "warming of the earth" is not taking place that rapidly. Glaciers are receding and so forth but there is and always will be an abundance of powder in our lifetime, our childrens lifetime and our grandchildrens.
Al gore is a lying hypocrite who uses way more power than the average person and he has gotten rich beyond his wildest dreams off this scandal. Live how you want to live or live life like a mouse. We have only had cars, planes, trucks, sleds etc.. for a hundred years or so. You think we fucked up the planet that bad? I'm living my life the way I want, I'm not buying into alarmist hype. I will not give up my lifestyle over a bunch of bullshit.

Until anyone can explain why we got snow at ECU and in the Outer Banks, then I'll continue to think those who believe in global warming are subpar dumbfucks.

You're clearly retarded. First reason being because the east coast doesn't suck for snow this year, this has actually been the 4th snowiest winter on record for the northeast not that snowfall totals even compare to those of average seasons at western resorts but saying the east coast sucks for snow just makes you sound stupid. Second reason being snowfall totals have nothing to do with warming, if anything a warmer earth would bring higher snowfall totals. Warmer air holds more moisture which obviously results in more powerful storms. so your point is invalid..

This.

Same in Europe. England got very low temperatures this winter. Everybody was wondering why. Easy phenomenon:

polar caps melt -> freshwater flows southern and interrupts saltwater gulf stream -> warm and humid air doesn't make it to the British coast -> cold air from Siberia becomes more dominant -> winters get colder!

he's saying that we couldn't have caused what's happening now and he's right. we're not helping or doing no damage by any means, but we are hardly the reason for it happening. i suggest you take your own advice... or kill yourself. either way, i won't care.
