Global Warming In Effect

From recent studies, it has shown that Global Warming is becoming a big problem. The cause of the Human-Induced component of warming are the increase of Carbon Dioxide (CO2). They are released by the burning of fossil fuels such as Lights, Coal, Oil and Gas. So for all us skiiers, we should work together and stop this devistation by proventing the burning of Fossil Fuels!!

education is the first step towards BAALLLLIIIIIIIIINNNNNN' and preventing the end of the world and skiing and snowboarding more specifically by means of our own devices!

you did your homework. if us skiers did something it realy wouldnt help much, we would need a shit ton more people do do so and that would still never happen becasue everyone needs to drive, and everyone needs power, so therefore car gases and power plant gasses getting piled up in the atmosphere and there will be no way to stop it unless there is a universal band on the release of carbon dioxide into the air.

^Totally. This sucks major balls. Although, I fail to see how it could get any worse for the Ice Coast, unless we were underwater. El Nino does play a factor though. But Global Warming is DEFINETLEY for real. I wish some of our ignorant leaders in this country would pull their heads out of their fat asses and actually try to do something instead of just talk.

thanks for the help, i no somewhat of whats up, it is acctually terrible what is going on. With the rain god is trying to give snow, but us humans have been holding him back over the years

i dont really want to be a hippy on the suject and say "save the earth" or some dumb shit like that, but the industry has equipment out that reduces the carbon dioxide/manoxide (not to sure which one) that comes of out the smoke stacks at refineries and power plants, that would help a shit ton if it was reuired and government issued to every company. which i dont see a problem, if the government makes the equipment, which they dont, they could have a standard issue of the equipment and a mandatory use, the government can make its own money to pay for it. the reason why most companies are not using it is becaue it is expensive and they techniqualy dont need it.

we could easily replace the products that cause it, this is insane , so in like 50 to 70 years from now could it be the end of the season "winter"?

Don't any of you guys think that the consequences at this point are inevitable??? I mean sure, we can all do our part, the whole country could as well, but thats just one country, and yes America is a big country and an even bigger part of the problem. But how do you go about getting other countries to cooperate?? and, this is just in the grand scheme of things, even if you had every single nation in the world working towards anti-global warming efforts, what the hell is the solution?? Do you understand what kind of drastic departure from the way we live today it'd take to considerably slow down the effects of global warming, let alone stop it????

I agree that global warming is a problem of freakish nature for the world right now. It is scary to think of the consequences in the long run, and it is hard for the majority of the worlds population to put it in perspective because it is such a sensitive and gradually developing problem. But the opportunity for effective solutions are far and few, and that scares me even more...

Please let me know what you think.

Then watch out country implode in a rage of nothing ever happening again after about, oh, 2 weeks.

there are a lot of countries and companies trying to make steps in the right direction. for example, car companies in china and japan and now starting to have much higher gallon/mile cars but the US is in dead last. what we need to do is start local. if we are all deticated to doing our part more people will catch on and we can reverse this whole situation.

If everyone denies responsibility and capability and deceives themselves to live their lives falsly, yet in denial, then we are truly a sad and selfish species worthy of the fate on the horizon.

yo the earth isnt 6 billion years old. Its about 4 billion, and life started much much more recent than that. al gore's movie had graphs going back 600,000 years...

That is the most well put summary I've ever read. Respect.

I guess we all gotta make a change. Instead of buying a car, I just bought a general subscription to all swiss public transportation (I know this is only possible in Switzerland but you guys should vote for politicians that install equally amazing public transportation). When I need a car, I'm only driving hybrid. Recycle as much as possible, avoid airplanes as much as possible (I'm visiting my family by train this christmas, not plane). But I guess most of all, VOTE for politicians that are going to make a difference. Do your research on who you vote for. Do your research on which companies you buy stuff from. Don't wait for other people to wake up.

Like Gore said at the end of his movie, if we all pitch in, it can be done.

yes!!

well not china, china is the worst in the world and the USA is proudly behind it (that graph in Gore's movie made the USA look pathetic, unbelievable).

But ya Japan and Germany are designing miracles in clean car technology.

But more has to be done. Public transportation needs to replace cars as much as possible. Fast trains need to replace airplanes. And the biggest polluters are still the industries, they just need to be taxed accordingly, basically Kyoto needs to be implemented worldwide that's a start.

Global Warming is happening...but humans have little to no effect on it, its the earths cycle, deal with it

1.) Nothing will change because oil brings in $$$$, our own president owns or has someting to do with a ton of oil companies. 2.) If the temp is rising, its not going to be 15 degrees a year, maybe a fraction of a degree. 3.) Few people care about anyone but themselves. 4.) I herd on the news the yesterday an old lady was robbed at gunpoint for a ps 3 that she just bought her grandson, this isn't the world that is moving in a positive direction.

You must be joking. The earths temperature does fluxuate but the recent changes since we have started fuckng shit up are drastic compared with normal ones.

If global warming went so far, and the world got so polluted.... would the world eventually go into an ice age again?? resulting in endless slopes??

probably wouldnt happen...just throwing the thought out there, cause that would be rad

I think thats just the movies its the opposite but that would be damn nice and i always thought how sick that would be. Granted it would be long after im gone but still sick.

public transportation, less sprawl, urban centers, and cap and trade programs for industry

all very important policies

thank god for some leaders suing the EPA about the CO2 issues, its a start

Basically every country except the USA is cooperating with Kyoto to stop CO2 emissions. The whole world is looking at the USA and waiting for them to cooperate.

why do you think that is?

No other major developed country is going to effectively kill their economy by ratifying Kyoto. They use the fact that the US, Austrailia etc have not signed it as a cheap exuse to not implement their own CO2 restrictions. For your information the US puts out much less CO2 emmisions than a China or any other developing 2nd class country. We hold ourselves to a higher standard to begin with that wont put people out of work. Not even Canada has as restrictive emissions laws as the US. Dont believe me, go to EPA.gov and compare.

honestly i fukin hope who ever gets elected in 2008 will fukin pay attention to the enviorment instead of just consentrating on fukin war, and the u.s.a hasent even signed the kimoto agreement or what ever its called. I just want people to realize global warming is fuking happening and ( like lineRider48 said) pull there goddamn heads out of there ass"s and do something.

Wow, and with an argument like that why wouldn't they? Maybe people dying right now is just a tad more pressing of an issue than a longer summer? Tell ya what sparky, since you seem like you've been around the block a few times I'll get 'cha a spellchecker and forward your advice on to Halliburton, Moveon.org, and all the other big decision makers so they get someone decent in office for you. You can start holding your breath right.........now.

nice points, if they were correct.

educate yourself:

And the entire EU is implementing Kyoto, regardless of what the USA does. It's called doing what's right.

The goverment can't just go around making money. that would lead to higher inflation and an economic drop in the value of the doller (wich is pretty low as it is compared to 4 years ago).

May i say one thing?

According to scientists, the world is 4,6 billion years old, and ice has not covered the poles for even that time... There aren't 6 billion years worth of data. :P

man global warming is gay, the earth should balance itself out, but i read an article about how the UN might shoot sulfourus(sp) material into the atmosphere. it cools the earth, a volcano erupted and the same stuff (sulfpurus amterial) shot into the atmoshpere it cooled the places around it half a degree for a year, so..this is a possible solution.

ya its going to effect everything, animals plants ect. in our life time someday, thier will be no winter on sea level

Well if we speed it up, the earth will go into a cooling trend right? Invest in SUVs, use aresol cans, and burn lots of shit. We need some snow here on the EC.

ok but the east just got like 4-6 inches be4 winter started and some iceburgs are actaulyl getting bigger.. and there also a bunch of scientists that ahve facts taht prove against it.. soo umm be skeptical

we'll never really know what's up. scientists get their grant money from people who want their research to support their own adgenda. the oil companies will give money for people to find that is all natural and ultra-liberal groups will pay for them to find catastrophic changes. you can't believe what anyone says. i personally have a hard time believing that all the fumes that we pump into our atmosphere has no effect.

we just need a president that actually gives a fuck about the environment.

i just watched that movie al gore made today about global warming, and it's actually terrifyng.

these democrats think they can predict motehr nature.. mother nature ahs its own cycle.. abck in teh '70s they were scared bout a global ice age nad now htere scared of a global warming
