Global Cooling? wut

Don't forget that our galaxy is on a collision course with the Andromeda Galaxy, due for impact in 4.5 billion years. Let's see the planet survive that one!

it most likely will. unless a star manages to get close enough to rip earth out of orbit. galaxy collisions don't involve that much actual "colliding" I don't think. Especially around the edges.

We're too far on the outer-rim for any real collision to likely take place...

That said, Earth could be being swallowed up by a red-giant sun by that point.

All these farfetched dates with millions and billions don't matter when Global WARming is going to wipe us out in only 2.0000000000 to 3.000000000 decades.

you are not an expert. you are not close to being an expert. you are many, many, many years away from being an expert. do not denegrate your chosen profession by claiming to be an expert in it. you have taken a few classes, and read a few papers. that is all.

why else would you post your major, other than to qualify yourself as more knowledgable than all in this thread(why you wrote "\thread", implying that you held the most expertise on the subject and so your statement should end the thread), and therefore the resident expert on this topic?

It is easy to see what you implied in your post. Just a heads up- majoring in something doesnt make you an expert, and doesnt prove that you are overly knowledgable in that subject.

nah, just trying to pass on some wisdom gleaned from a few years in the world. If i can pass on some lessons i learned the hard way, why not?

I put in what my major was to be annoying... Everyone who posts in any climate/weather related thread knows it.

Hopefully you can forgive me

^^^^

Dude above me might not be an expert but from what I've seen him post before he is definitely competent regarding this issue....regardless of major or whatever.

uh. that degree would make him more knowledgable than most of the people here. typically people do a lot of learning in universities. that's kinda the whole point.
