Glidetrack Lengths

I am looking to get a glidetrack in the upcoming weeks for my 7D and was

curious about a good length based on the various tracks that Glidetrack

provides. I realize that the Shooter model for both the SD and HD

version can double as a shoulder support (i dont really see how that is

really a 'plus) and also lighter. I plan on using this obviously as a

dolly for tracking shots. How would this setup ona 501HDV tripod? Does

the weight transfer drastically from one side of the rail to other other

and potentially fall or tilt with the 1m, i've read that the .5m sits

comfortablly and stable on a tripod set of legs...Would the .5m work

fine for rail pans ~15ft from the subject to even 80ft from the top of a

park?

I assume 1m would be a good length considering it is 39" and therefore I

am not limited to a smaller space but then again, if I am doing some

shots at around 100-150mm then would it even make much of a difference?

How about with 11-30mm (Tokina or a prime).

I'm looking at the Glidetrack SD.

Don't get the glidetrack.

Get a konova slider in 80cm. They're a 6-bearing slider fpr the same price as the glidetrack

I have a glidetrack shooter. Shoulder mount works pretty good, but if your looking for purely a slider, get some thing with bearings. Its more of a slide track than a glide track. Too much resistance/catchy. Its works but there are better options out there.
