Glidecam Help

I superglued the screw for the quick release plate on my Glidcam to the mounting plate, and after a while my quick release plate stopped working, and I can no long get my camera on and off the plate. (It is way to hard, and won't slide on. I have tried to use nail polish remover to get the screw unstuck, but it isn't working. I can't find where to buy a mounting plate for the glide cam, and don't know what to do.

Pictures if it helps:

There are different strengths of acetone, and not all nail polish removers have acetone in them.

Have you tried soaking the plate in high concentration acetone?

Also, if it really comes down to it you might be able to use a flush cut saw to lop the head off, that might help you get better penetration to the threading. Soaking will probably be your best friend here so you it can get past the head and actually get to where the glue is causing the problem.

Also, soaking the plate in really hot water will soften the glue a bit.

Other alternatives I've heard of:

1:1 WD-40 and Acetone

Rubbing Alchohol (I'd advice getting real high concentration)

I can't advise you with a method to get the glue off because I've never had this problem, but I must preface this in the kindest way possible:

Are you fucking stupid? Why would you ever superglue something that might need to be replaced/removed?

Honestly though I hope you can get them apart. Next time just stick some tape between the release plate and the glidecam and it will hold tighter.

The idea of super glue was given by a couple people here on newschoolers. I realize my mistake hahaha

i know people put a soldering iron on the head of screws to loosen epoxy, maybe that will work?

Yup. I do this all the time to pull frets out of guitar necks, which are superglued in. Just touch the soldering iron to the screw head. The metal will conduct the heat and melt the glue, allowing you to pull it out.
