Whatever happened to that crazy mofo? I saw him in a movie recently....what was it...ski movie? something about mckonkey? anyways..I just wanna know if that awesome specimen of 80's hardcore is still kickin'

ski movie it was. i´ve seen pics in freeze i think. read he still rips really hard, but he can´t be more than 40 so he should, at least a little!

 
he was in the latest warren miller flick. he even came to seattle when it was playing here.

He's pretty much my hero. And yeah, I've heard a bit about him still skiing and from waht other people said I would be sure he's still ripping it up.

I think he's in a new ski movie called Fistfull of Moguls. I think that it's directed by Greg Stump. I can't remember if he's in the movie or if he helped out with it. justpushplay.com once had a trailer for it, so it might still be there.

Plake was the best when skiing wasnt even close to being cool. All my friends switched to snowboarding...but i stuck with skiing because plake ruled.

 
plake is such an animal...his wife rips too. he was on these oooold k2 slalom skis at alpental. he was hitting the 'big' air kicker...hes just a really nice and cool guy..

Yep he's in 'Fistfull of Moguls' and it is by Greg Stump. Oh yea 'Snowhat?'with Plake and Mike Hattrup. I think that movie is funny.

 
rode up char 2 at alpental with him in 5th grad, 2 person chair, just him and me, he was chill, super nice. taught me how to do polish doughnuts, it was so phat. and he taught my dad too, we were so tight.

Glen plake is my hero he is the only reason why the '80's didn't kill skiing. I seen him a couple of times at big comps but I never actually introduced myself. He's one of those guys that you wait for them to talk to you because they are such a big name if you know what I mean.

Most people are just lucky to be able to ski for that many years, not to mention how haed he skis for so many years.

I've met him a bunch of times at Loon Mountain in NH. He's a wicked cool guy. I skied with him for like a whole day, learning how to do polish donuts from him. Then I saw him again at a local bar when he went to see a friend of mine play the guitar and sing. His wife is wicked hot too. Shes a 30 year old look a like of Britney Spears.

Sirjibsalot, I would like to see you bust out a 360 mute over a gap on 210cm womens DH racing skis when your that old. He has just done so much for the sport it's amazing.

I just think it's stupid he wishes snowboarding never happened. Warren Miller would be the only one making movies, skis would be straight, we'd all be in one pieces, skiing would still be the joke it was for most of the 80s.

gotta go with that, skiing is way more progressed now with shaped skis and all, i mean shit, plake's an awesome skiier, i don't deny that, but as with people in all sports and arts, you need to adapt to change, 'cuz really, how much new stuff is there left to be done on straight 210s? on another note, i usually see plake a couple times each season at kirkwood, and i've never seen 'im with the hawk up, he probably only does that for publicity shit and vids.

 
with out snowboarding skiing would still be spread eagles and double daffys...

...theres nothin wrong with bustin a double daffy or a backscratcher once in awhile dude~~eventually sum guy would try spinnin or flipping on skis even if snowboardnig didnt come around--plake is awesome, from what ive read and heard about him hes a super kewl dude

freestyle skiing was cool in the 70s, it just became gay in the 80s with all the regulation shit. In the 80s to compete in events u had to comply with riged rules that were gay. get a movie from the 70s like daydreams or watch the begining of 'the spy who loved me' and ull see that people were doing switch back 180s in 77 and whatever they wanted to really. yeah and watch daydreams or the begining of uprising and ull see that guys back then did fronts off 60 footers.

i actually thought he was a dick, at the keystone thursdat night throwdown last year he made fun of a kid who got taken away in a strecher, but it wasnt too me, he kicks some serious ass though
