I was at Glen Eden Saturday and saw a guy there rockin a Full tilt hoodie, Full Tilt boots, Chronic skis with FKS binding who couldn't even slide a box.

Learn the tricks before you buy the gear; you have to be the biggest poser I've ever seen

Disclaimer - I know he won't read this but I had to rant.

It honestly rattled u that bad that you had to come home and make a thread about it?

If he has intentions of skiing park why wouldn't he get the gear first?(full tilt hoodie might be overkill)

How do you know he couldn't hit a box? Did you see him trying? If you saw him trying to slide a box, why would you hate on someone trying to get into the sport.
 
I agree with you, but I thinking that the OP was just jealous of him having great gear and just being a beginner (At least that's how I felt)

I just didn't get why he was all steezed out and was terrible.

When I and everyone I know started skiing park we just had our normal shit and bought twin tips. As we got better the gear changed and so came some of the style.

go skiing anywhere else besides ontario and people will look at you and wonder the exact same thing.

just chances are they wont come post about it on NS, cause theyre not bitches.

theres a guy on my hockey team that uses a $300 easton synergy hockey stick and is yet to get a goal this season.

i use a fuckin wooden sherwood 5030 and have 9 goals.

should he give me his stick?

should i go complain about him on a internet forum?

should i be mad at life cause he has a nice stick and i dont?

stfu. Real skiers wouldnt be ripping on what other people wear. why the fuk does it matter to you? Why can people only wear and use certain equipment if they are good at the park? You sound like a piece of shit, and are the type of person that i would never want to ski with There arent many people that i would hope injury on. But, you are one of them. I liv prtty close to you and ski glen sometimes. So if you see a skier in a beige and black bloom coat and brown pants, come and say something to me and we ll see what happens
 
Causer, shut up. Let kids do what they want. We all start somewhere. The kid was lucky enough to have his first set be nice, so what. I talked to the kid and he is chill. It's his first year. Give him a break.

I had to get into this kus i ride glen all the time,

first of all, all you dam lil kids need to shut up n start skiing instead of posting on websites all day n night. Its been years since ive been on newschoolers for forums, yet even log in because theres sooo much pussy bitchin and hating goin on and all yall need to grow the fuck up, this aint no 4chan

secondly, This kid has every, yes every right to rip on posers. (posting that on newschoolers tho.. states he himself a poser, because he thinks what people wear make a difference in anytthing...)

But yes we should all rip on these rich poser kids waayyy more, and in theyre face, because they are lil buggers who gets mom to buy them everything. All us older crew that was around back in the day when tall hoodies n shit didnt exist, back when skis didnt have two tips and you had to melt/bend them up with a heat gun.. we are the only ones who can say shit because we didnt have the option of better of worse, it was whatever worked... but even then, now adays guys older than me can rip on me for being a poser tall t park rat because they shredded hard bumps in the 80's.

but even myself shredding as hard as I do now adays, which aint nothin special, i still dont pre-order hoodies online before the presales pre-seasons pre-launch, i sewed two shirts together so my ass aint get wet...

but heres the deal... skiing is about fun, and having a good time. we all know if you cant ski and you use racing skis, your gunna have a bad time... if your an afterbang kinda kid, dont go buying stiff coreputs or surfaces because its cool. buy what will make you have the best time, ski the best, improve the fastest, and make you smile..

and i'll see all you cats on the hill, If you have problems with what ive said kus im never gunna check this thread. talk to me at the top of the park and i will gladly give out high fives
 
Solid post, but op doesn't have the right to rip on said "poser" at all. The kid is out there trying to learn, and happens to be lucky enough to have some nice gear to learn with. If he had zero intentions of park/freestyle skiing then that would be what I would consider a poser.

Times have changed, and with many of the main shops in ontario having freestyle skis and apparel readily availible for pretty comparable prices to your average all mtn. carving ski setup, your going to see a lot more kids rocking these types of setups with no intentions of skiing park.

I went pretty close to all out when I bought my first set of gear. If people had of called me out and ripped on me cause I sucked I probably would have just quit skiing or given up on park.

If people feel the need to try and call out "posers" instead of just doing your own thing and having fun skiing, then you probably shouldn't be skiing at all.

Also op, did you ever consider giving the kid a few tips or pointers, or did you just run to the nearest computer?
 
I'll be shredding glen eden often this year because I'm going to sheridan college.

I'm thinking of getting a 5 x 7 night pass too... this might be a stretch, but if anyone here has pass hookups of any sort msg me I want thems.

I hope to get to meet some of you guys out there!

5X7 is all i buy, does good. If you buy now or before november it's only 180ish with Tax. 250 after november

Setup wise is nothing special. Alright amount of rails, poorly made jumps, your typical small local hill.
