Glen eden riders...

holy crap, why is glen eden such a piece of shit this year..

last years setup was so much better than this, this is equivalent to closing day conditions last year..glen eden better move their ass to fix up the park because it is pure shit

ill be hittin up glen on tuesday, what they got setup there.

my buddy went like 3 weeks ago and said they had like 2 decent jumps and alot of boxes.

actual park:

-table about 20 maybe 25 feet with battleship box beside it

-stupid up box gap flat box thing that is ridiculously hard ot get on skis but hten again its a snowboard park because all the park crew are boarders

-fucked up DFD rail that no one hits because the kink results in death to extremeties with a 20 25 ft step down beside it

_ at the bottom either options from a down rail, tire tap, a frame rail

the lips are kinda shitty especialyl on the step down hard to get balanced and pop becasue of the ruts and unequalness

mini park has a bunch of dumb rails and boxes which would be good if they had lips but they dont

so basically the same as two weeks ago, aside from the mini park.

I'll probably be their tomorrow after my exam. That DFD is soo wackk

The DFD actually has a story behind it.

Who ever built it for them messed up the angles, so they offered it for a discount. Glen Eden took it.

I personally think they should've declined and demanded a rail that isn't impossible to ride.

well great im getting up tomorrow and the park sounds like shit.

not what i was hoping for i was hoping to learn grabbed 3's and 5's

guess i might have to settle to learn rails and boxes and conqeur my fear

not sure about chronics, but corbetts had anthems for somewhere in the 300's. Considering they go for 399 on evogear, thats a pretty sick deal

gotta say i was pretty impressed with the park. not amazing, but it was better than i expected. oh, and that DFD they have is fucked.

so glen recently bought a 30 ft flat boxwhich is sweet, its actualyl good, metal coping all around with normal white ptex or whatever in between, the front and back is rounded so itll definately be a gap on slightly...putting it in tonight or tomorrow i believe...sweet

was up there today, park was better than i expected and allowed me to try some new shit.

Landed my first 5, no style, but still stoked.

And also got very close to a 360 safety grab, got my hand down, almost grabbed.

and threw 3's of the step-down for the first time.

still not consistent with the 5's though, sometimes i can only throw a 3 or 450, but im working on it.

dont feel bad bro, i cant even grow a pair and throw a 180 :(

also, anybody up there today see the boarders throwin flips. unreal

well i was up again today.

today the jumps had a bit more kick then they did on Tuesday but the lighting was horrible making it harder to spot your landings. and it was freezing.

not the best day for jumping.

also they put in a new flat bar next to the up box flat box thing.

i was there aswell today for a wee bit..

the new flat box was pretty good although set up at a different angle than the lip which was weird, the jumps were ok but the 1st jump was not good way to soft/speed issues/ knuckle was all weird..the second jump had a sick lip to it and just kicked you straight up which was bomb

the line there is not too bad for skiers now, you can hit the flat box den the jump which they made stepup and is actually fun to ride now then the down rail, if they put in the a frame near the top instead of beside the down rail which is stupid youd be able to get in four hits which would be nice

who was there today(Sunday). same someone with red jacket with ns stickers on the helm. someone with ar6's, someone with invaders. so many of you today. quite a pleasant sight considering the amount of boarders that were there.

kay first off that table is maybe 10 ft, def not even 20
the park is shit because the park manager from last year left cause he was fed up with the managements bs, so they had to get someone else, and the new kid is lazy, wont install rails or fix or maintain the setup, and all the park staff they have now have no idea how to fix a jump or rail, plus the guy thats actually in charge of the park wont lift a finger and just comes to work and sleeps in his car. I would be highly appreciative of anyone that would send in a complaint email, they guy to harp about is kyle as he is supposed to be organizing the park, but hasnt done anything yet so far this year, the park has gone from bad to simply dangerous lately, its sad. I wish theyd put a little more time into teaching the park staff how to build proper lips for the features and maintaining them, cause the park does have potential.

glen eden is only 30 minutes away from where I live (oakville) so its better then nothing. i try to make weekend trips with friends up to collingwood, mslm or horseshoe, etc.

the DFD rail is so sketch, ive only seen a few people hit it up. pretty much everytime i go i see like one park skier besides myself

I wear a foursquare adams jacket 9-5 pattern (white and green), k2 silencers 09 (red ones), grey helmet, grey oakleys and black snow pants. I have a bunch of stickers on my helmet so if you see me, dont be afraid to say hi, would be stoked to talk to some skiers and maybe learn a thing or 2...i pretty much go every friday or saturday, will be there this friday.

i'ma try and make it out this weekend, possibly sunday, or saturday. i now have some chronics, usually ride alot of all mountain, and i doubt i'll hit any rails, mostly jumps.

i'll heading up on saturday with a few of my buddys.

if anyone wants to give me a shout, im the guy with the blue and white Orage jacket and a helmet full of stickers. oh and i'll be failing in the mini-park :P

was there on friday..wasnt bad actually...i guess the rumor of bad conditions drove everyone off..no line from 4-9 so it was pretty fun...threw down everything i had / tried new stuff since no one was tehre :D

met a NSer there too..was riding AR6s i believe..asked to ride with me and my friends although he was wayy better then us..

dude was he tall, or like regular height? cuz i've seen 2 people with ar6's there. the shorter oen oft he two never saw him in the park. but the taller one was throwing down nicely.

the skiers there yesterday were killing it. i saw these 3 guys that were 270ing like every rail and box in the park. and there was one guy, blue jacket and red/orange pants, who was just all around slaying it.

yahh i was there yesterday from 2-7. They were throwing it down pretty well..i think i was on the lift with them at one point but that was my first run so i didnt know that they were that good..the guy in blue had saga gear i believe

True, well I might be there next saturday if my parents dont let me go to mslm so feel free to say hi, wearing a 4square green/white jacket, riding red k2 silencers

It actually did happen though earlier than had been planned and it was not really announced. During Squire John's they had a tent up, that was it, sad yes, hopefully they will get their act together for next year.

i think glen should stop putting up weird shit like that dfd and start makin normal stuffthey should slice up the dfd and make it either more mellow so its not fucking suicidal or make something completely different

for real, glen should come up with some interesting features that aren't impossible to hit. something unique that only glen will have
