Glades/Woods skiing

So what does everybody think about this? I love it, second best thing on the east except for parks, and I think its the closest you can get to big mountain skiing on the east (with the exception of Tuckermans). Also what east coast mountain do you think has the best woods skiing, i think its mount snow, but then again i think mount snow has the best everything on the east.

I haven't had a chance to do either (first year and no pow skis), but I'd like to. What are glades?

mtw, glades are woods. the only place ive gone skiing in the glades was at stowe and it was really good. it had just snowed, and a lot of the powder had been blown over to the side of the mountain where the woods are. there was over a foot of pow, and it was warm spring skiing.

mt snow? good glades? what are you thinking. they may make a pretty good park, but flat, no featured, skied out woods with no snow are not good. Never use mount snow and good glades in the same sentence again. a mountain with some trees worth riding would be jay peak, (571 inch snowfall) and smuggs/stowe. those are good tree mts because they get snow, there is a slite incline to the slope and there are big cliffs chutes and what not

yea, for sure jay peak - it's way better than any other resort in vermont and most of the east coast for glades... if not all of the east... Mont Sutton or whatever just north of Jay has some really good glades too... and suprisingly - when the snow conditions are right Blue Mountain's glade run can be really fun.. sucks when you get stuck in the creak though.

well obviously they suck if you hit the crappy ones on an icy day. have you ever hit the ones off olympic on the north face, that shit is phat if you hit it after a storm.

well yes i have skied those trees after a so called dump. It is pretty fun. but all that fun is gon within an hour due to the hoards of newyorkers that ski it out. You have no idea how much better it is in northern vermont. the snow is at least one big dump a week, almost garenteed. and the trees are so much sicker. and there are so many that they dont get even remotely skied out until late in the day. whats you name and what town do you live in. maybe we can meet up next year and ski or somethin

tree skiing is amazing...by far the best skiing on the mountain, i mean big powder bowls are fun, but trees are even better...the only thing that can out-do some nice glades is a steep pow chute...the only problem with glades is that it's a little risky, especially in wet sticky snow.

I Cant believe you think that MT.fucking Snow has the best glades. That is the biggest bull shit ive evr heard. Mt.Snow has the best of nothing. Yes the Trials and the Plunge are pretty decent glades but like stu said, they are skiid out with in the first hour of the day. The best glades are definitly at Stowe and Jay Peak. Stowe got the best hidden shit cause there is so much and Jay has the best snow and glades also. Valhalla on Jay is one of the best glades anywhere. Have you ever skiid Northern Vermont. It actually has respectable mountains unlike Mt.Snow.

for glade jay peak is pretty sick, and at cannon mt if you know how to get to mitersill there is a shit load of hidden glades that no one knows about with fresh pow almost all the time.

k-town, mad river glen, and of course jay

jay peak got voted the best glades in north america....so they are'nt just the best in the east. mad river glen also was in top 10 for glades. i havent been to either but i've heard good things.

and sunday river has some good glades.

sugarloaf has good glades too, alot are short, but if you explore...sugarloaf has snowfields too.
