gl2 or vx2100

i want a new better camera, and right now i am desiding between the sony vx2100, and the cannon gl2. The gl2 is smaller than the vx2100 but the vx2100 is better quality(i think). What do you tink is a better camera, or do you have any other sugestions? between 1000-2000$?

no the sony is not better and its more expensive. the canon has better options, go into a pro camera shop and they'll tell you more than i can. i have a gl2 its ridiculous. you don't want a monster camera, you're going to really appreciate having something small.

seeing that the gl2 is a mini dv (digital video), i'm not sure where you got 16 mm from?

I think he prolly meant 'frame' mode on the GL2 but it really doesnt look like 16mm.

hahaha i forget that you guys arent my friends and dont get my language... when i say 16mm shit, i mean that if you know what your doing with the exposure settings etc, you have a quality that rivals 16mm....

yeah, my sister just got a GL2 (film major) and its pretty fucking sick.

no 16mm, but only 16mm is 16mm...

he is right though, you can tweak the GL and the XL1 from canon to look like film, by using frame mode and using its settings. its so sweet and i want one so bad.

yea its definitely worth every penny. my dad has an XL1 and I have seen with my own two eyes the quality of it in frame mode and it is amazing. When you film at first in frame mode, it doesn't look like film through the viewfinder, but once you play it back on a tv or on your lcd its amazing and so cool

Vx2000. If you shoot in low light conditions it is the camera to have. Canons shoot like hell at night if you don't have proper lighting. Plus the frame mode isn't filmlike...its just blurry. I'll take sharp over blurry any day of the week. Hell, most of the time, I'll take HD over 16mm exept in extreme lighting conditions such as snow. Color correcting video is a bitch.
