I love my GL2, but I would agree that it has slightly less picture quality. However, if you're experienced with how it works, you can get much better quality on any camera. I recently did a 5-day video competition at my school, and my group used my camera. I wasn't always the cinematographer, and for the scenes that someone else used it, everything looked like shit, but because I'm familiar with how to get exposure just right, I got some amazing shots.
It's all going to be personal preference, especially if you can get both for the same price.
