Give me a persuasive essay topic

I have to write a persuasive essay, and I'm horrible at coming up with my own prompts. If you have your favorite prompt, or maybe just a prompt you've liked, post it here! Thanks.
 
I am in the middle of doing the same paper. I chose the topic of People need to be informed about the rights they have during encounters with the police.
 
Just do it on why organ doners are awesome. I'm against the topic but it's a good cause...who cares what they look like after they're done harvesting organs. Seriously though, it's a great topic.
 
Capital punishment is always a good choice. Far too many people support it and there really isn't any argument for it, so it's hard to not look good arguing against it. My best wishes go out to you if you decide to argue for it.
 
i wrote two so far this year, one on raising minimum wage, one on keeping Insite (Vancouvers safe injection site open) and my final one is on abortion.

just think up somethings that oyu argue about with people. abortion, euthanasia, gay marraige, etc.
 
Write your essay on the benefits of putting out weaker peoples into work camps. Shit should get interesting quickly~
 
Not that you necessarily have to pick my idea, but in my opinion its always better to write about something unique and still very controversial. Think of how many fucking papers your teacher has read on capital(sp) punishment and legalizing weed. Just something to keep in mind, it probably wont matter either way~
 
Yeah that's true too, but I'm not in the mood to research a lot to put together a good paper on something I don't know much about.
 
and the better the chances someone better has done the same topic and you will be held to the same standard.
 
I'm taking speech and debate for my English class this year and a kid in my class did a speech on this. It was informative not persuasive but there are still so many valid points you can use for that topic. A pretty good topic you could also use is persuading people towards eating organic foods and bringing factory farming and all that fucked up shit to an end. We learned about that in Ecology and it changed my view on eating meat in so many ways. Everyone loves pigs, showing your teacher how mean people are to pigs and it will be an easy A+.

Thesis: Any privately funded pro-life agenda is fundamentally unconstitutional, and definitely terrorist.

Churches, especially the Roman Catholic establishment, have no role in the choices of our societies lowest forms of life, and the methods that the church uses are obviously coercive and scary. Picketing an abortion clinic is not fair, do we really need another kid with half a chance wandering around with parents that obviously don't want them.
