I'm sick of hearing people go on and on about how snowboard film companies are sooooo progressive and sick for making location segment movies.

There isn't a fucking thing thats progressive about location segments. HELLO, CLASS, Warren Miller has been making movies that are start to finish location segments for over 50 years. Greg Stump Made location segment movies, MSP used to make, and still occasionaly makes location segment movies.

Until Taylor Steel came around, surf movies were all location segments.

not saying location segments suck, just stop sucking snowboardings dick and take a look around.

PS. Progressive is just as gay a word as CRUNK.

I don't suck snowboarding's dick cuz of location segments in the movies, it's what they do at the locations that gets me hot and bothered. Warren miller goes to alaska, and films chris davenport doing seventy turns on a two hundred yard powder slope and absinthe goes to the same area and builds a gap jump and shoots cab fives off it...that's why snowboarding is so hot rite now.

location segments are terrible. Movies should keep movies separated to view each rider's indivisual style.

I like them, and amazed about how many people like/dislike Robotfood on here. I love their vibes and they're sick.

If I was to do a movie that was locational based, I would sort of have mini-rider-segments in the locations. Most companies try to do this anyways to seperate people.

I just hope if people make locational movies now everyone will hate and says stop biting snorboarding. They're just another style.

As for the Robotfood making a ski movie and it would be the best, I beg to differ. It would be sick though.

i know where you're coming from, but that shit gets repetitive after a while. you gotta do a montage now and then between parts. where else is all the extra footage gonna go?

 
yeah for real. different riders segements is good for showing each individuals different style and talent but it doesnt show enough of the whole session side of skiing. A group of skiiers feeding off eachother and being influenced by eachother to create there own styles. Thats cooler to me than a bunch of individual sections.

skiers have been making movies with location segments since before snowboarding was a twinkle in Jake burtons eye. Location segments are not "progressive". thats my argument. My argument is NOT wether if they are cool or not, or if they are better or not, or if thomasskier likes anal sex from from fat women with dildos... which he does by the way.

If people say that skiers are bitting snowboardin when they make location segments, its a crock of shit. They would not be bitting snowboarding. Skiers have been making location segments forever. Its nothing new. Thats why I mentioned surf videos, because location segments transend sports. They've been around forever. Robot Food did not invent the location segment is what I'm getting at here, and I'm sick of people saying how lame skiing is for not being as cool or "progressive" as snowboarding for things that aren't the least bit progressive. Give yourselfs some fucking credit.

 
i agree with lilhorsey again. when afterlame came out people were claiming it was so progressive to have that style segments. i personally didnt like it that much and i like afterbang waaay more

the argument shouldn't be the location segment FORMAT. that's not the progressive part; MSP has done that for the last billion years and so have a buncha people. the argument that skimack makes (and he's right) is that what makes snowboarding so much fucking cooler is what they DO at the location. MSP on the same boat now in the same place for their third year skiing down hills in bella coola. wow! what if they took the boat to some random-ass place, built a huge gap and filmed gnar switch landings into powder on their location shoot instead of going to bella coola again and doing powder turns? that would be supa dupa progressive! and that's why we suck snowboarding's dick. cuz they do location shoots at their OWN random ass gaps that haven't been played out (chads) and get fucking GNAR.

locations don't get played out until people exhaust the possibilities. Rails get played out very fast. Chad's won't be played out for a long time.

 
Yea Afterbang was def a better film in my eyes. To stay on topic though, yes location segment films were done first by skiers yes morons beleive Robot Food has this increbile idea. Both are irrelevant in my opinion fo rthe simple fact of the many similarites of the 2 sports.

Many things are goin to be the same as snowboarding if they do it first, if its a good idea why not bring it into skiing. Should we ban snoowboarders from sing snow cuz we had it first. They are so bitting us for that!! Lets just appreciate each sport for what they are respectivle and progress harmoniously!!

Lilhorsey, you speak the truth. Location segments are pretty bogus anyway, they're not really fun to watch. People got all up on RobotFood's dick just because they broke the standard jib formula today, even if that formula exists for a reason. Sponsors want their riders up in front of the camera to show off their product. Unless you really know your stuff, you can't tell who a rider in every shot of a location movie.

And in the process of doing these location shoots Robot Food decided, since they were no longer going to be in the business, to burn a down low location. They flashed the number to the lodge in Cook City and everything...rediculous.

i hate how ski movies are trying to be all "happy go lucky" all of the sudden like robot food. having the skiers do silly little things inbetween tricks. its really gay that skiers have to rip off the robot food crew.

on ski movie chapter menus thay should have location title and skiier title, and have the segments as subtitles. that would be soo dag
