Okay kids, shut the fuck up.
I have a Giro Remedy and I wear it for DH and freeride on my mountain bike, it fucking rules. I also wear it for backcountry and big mountain skiing, it fucking rules.
Short answer: yes, get it, it fucking rules.
Downsides: It's big, that sucker turns your head into a giant golfball, no worries though, but if you don't like a big, wide helmet, you won't like it. It has three vents in the chin piece which means your lips get super cold when you're honking at pace on the snow, so... put a doorag round your kisser and you'll be fine.
It's a sick helmet, real comfortable and you know it's got the skills to pay the bills when you go down like a sack of shit. The visor sits nice and high, can't see it when you're wearing it but you know it's saving your sorry ass from sunstrike.
I got one in from the states for US$53, they retail for over 500 bucks down here, they're a bloody good helmet.
I've used plenty of full-faces in my time, the Giro Flint, 661 Bravo, 661 Full Bravo and the Remedy is by far the best, most comfortable helmet I've ever use.
If you're thinking of buying one, just do it, who really cares what that little fuck who's hassling you says, if it feels good and you like the look of it (and who wouldn't, it's fucking sick), then just buy it and rep it,
