Giro Remedy helmet?

So a friend is selling his giro remedy helmet wich is for DH for $60. i'm planning on buying it and using it for skiing. Would there be any problems with doing that, my mom is saying that if its not a ski helmet it won't save your life, but i can't see her point of veiw at all.

So, if anyone has ever skied with one, some feedback would be nice. He is selling it to me at half the store price and buying it of the internet is out of the question, because the shipping would make it more expensive than the store. It in almost perfect condition, just some small scratches here and there.

And would my goggles fall off easy, because i don't think it has a goggle clip, but i'm not sure.

its a DH (downhill, bike) helmet, thats why i'm isking if anyone has SKIIED with it and if its worth it.
 
It probably won't be very warm considering it's made to go biking in 80 degree weather instead of skiing in 20 degree weather. I'd think there would be a goggle strap on it since you use goggles downhilling, but it would probably be a good idea to check that out if you still want it.
 
Yeah, i'm used to cold helmets, because i have a R.E.D. shaun white trance helmet, wich is like a skateboard helmet with ear muffs.

now why would i be a tool. this is pointless, but what can i expect from the NSG other than some noob making pointless coments.

well lets see...rocks are harder then snow(generally)so its made for crashing and hitting on rocks so i dont see why it wouldt work for snow too...
 
out of the 60 days i get every winter around

1/3 are fresh pow pow days

1/3 are yesterdays powder days

and the last third are park days
 
well ive never skiied with that helmet.

It looks like it would be pritty heavy.

However I did ski with a giro flint. A full face ski helmet. And it might be just a mental thing but I found I spun slower witht the face guard, so I ended just taking it off. Im sure that helmet would save your head when falling, but will just be akward in the air, and it might be colder compared to a ski helmet.
 
u might get coled cause of the air vents (but u can plug those) as for goggles u think the troy lee D2 had a goggle clip?
 
oh yeah, as for the helmet, definately get it for the pow days but you might want to get a lighter one for park cause it might slow you down.
 
do you want my old giro helmet that i used like, 10-15 times for 40 dollars?

dude, why do u need a full face helmet to ski pow? what, u think ur gonna break ur jaw or sumthin. Jus get a fuckin gator it works just as well in powder u dont have to worry about anybody calling u a fag. I mean look at Shaun White, he wears a hankercheif.
 
Wearing a hankercheif is worse than the full face helmets. Have u ever ski powed? I dont think so when u think a dorky gator well suffice for a bc powder day.

I'm sure the helmet would work fine other than it'd be cold. It's designed to to protect against surfaces slightly harder than snow in a sport that's remarkably like the motion of skiing. The only thing i might worry about is park use, but I'm gonna assume you won't be wearing this helmet primarily in the park.
 
no...it helps keep the snow from choking you. And yeah, when your droping cliffs, a full face is super helpfull, unless you like breaking all your face on rocks, trees, ice, etc. You know nothing about BC skiing do you? Seth Morrison rocks the full face, Pollard rocks the full face, Mike Douglas Rocks it when he needs it. I could keep going. Your a noob who knows nothing.
 
thats a pretty good offer, but the shipping from new jersy (where i'm guessing you live from your profile) to eastern europe would make it as expensive to buy a new ski ful face. thanks anyways dude

I don't really like the helmet, but i have nothing against it. If your used to have cold helmets and you really like it, then definitly buy it.
