I plan on buying the Giro Flint helmet mostly for park but I also do glades I was just wondering how well it worked and if there was any vision impairments. I am getting this helmet to help prevent myself from getting another concussion from bashing my face off a jump landing, will this help over my other helmet with no mouth and forehead peice?

Well if ou have a giro helmet, I think you may be able to buy a chin thingy for it to save some money.

The visor is more or less for style, but the chinguard is nice. I don't own a flint personally, but a few of my friends do, and they HIGHLY recommend it, though they say the chinguard gets in the way if you need to spit, or use a hydration pack. The fit is as good as other Giro helmets, and it looks cool, so why not?

Thanks a lot, but getting the mouth peice on the Giros is also very expensive and damn near impossible to find, its hard enough to find the Flint itself.

I have had the flint SC for 3 years now, and I have been nothing but happy with it. The chin guard has saved my face on numerous occasions. I would buy another one, I like it alot. I also purchased it after getting a class 3 concussion wearing a different helmet. Oh, yeah, and no vision restrictions.

How much Canadian would be a good price for it because I have seen many prices and they vary considerably, the helmet at one store was 200 dollars and at another it was 185 and online its way more than that....

If you're not throwing your carcass off cliffs, the face guard looks pretty goofy inbounds. Other than that, It's a cool helmet. I've got the old one w/o the chinguard, and it works great. I got a concussion with it last year, but it was pretty mild, and I was good to go the next day.

Yes I have a rather large head it fits into the helmet. Thanks for the site that does look like a good deal. Have you ordered off that site before?

cant say that I have, but most big name sites like that are fairly safe. if you are interested in the flint, I would definitely go for that. I would but I am medium

SportsDen.com has a bunch of em in all the colors. I've been wearing one for the last 2-3 years. I usually rock it without the chinguard unless I'm hucking cliffs.

the visor does keep the sun out a little bit, the chin guard gets in the way when you wanna pick your nose. The helmet is very hot though because of the lack of vents.

I have the Flint SC. The only thing I don't like about the chin guard is spitting and getting boogers and snot and drool all over it. At least once every few days I forget it's there and I hock a huge loog right into it. It's saved my face from tree branches a bunch though. I mostly ski in cliffy treed areas so if that's what you do, then it will be good for you. I ski with the vents fully open even on the coldest days. The first few days I didn't like it, but now I do. I got it on e-bay for 110 bucks. And also, if you are breathing really hard sometimes your goggles will fog.

Look... A mountain RAM. Staring contest. Me and you. You don't even blink do you? You win. You always do. Goulet.

i wouldn't recomend a chingaurd for park for the same reason world cup racers don't use chingaurds anymore. if you bail face first you run the risk of getting whiplash or even breaking your neck. i don't think it's too likely to happen but the risk is still there.

i wanna get the flint SC when i get more into skiercross.
