Okie scottie, I gotta disagree with you on the whole bandboy thing. I think that's more for the younger girls, like right when we're starting to find interest in guys. ANd boyband guys are a bit flaming and feminine, so we relate to them! It's kinda like training pants, an easy transition, then we grow up and realize that they're gay. Why chicks dig 'pro athletes', i dunno, for me, it's kinda of a sort of awe, and respect, because we appreciate their talent, something we don't have. (exactly like guys, we just have the extra ability to appreciate other aspects about them, ie how studly and manly they look) We don't just dig famous people, there is a reason why they're famous, it's because they're widely known so of course you're gonna hear about them more than that hot guy that lives down the street. I personally don't get the whole model thing tho, a hot guy, with a hot body, who doesn't do anything. It's like a waste of a physique. So it just boils down to this, we admire the famous people, but i'll gladly take a boy from say....North Carolina ;) Besides, what's with this double standard?! Do you see us chicks spazzing over your obsession with Britney Spears or Shakira?

OH yea, about the whole hollywood thing...coming from So Cali..ehhhh I guess maybe it is more materialistic than say, Omaha, but essentially we're just the same. It's a bit more subjective to where you are too. But the skater/punk culture is way huge here, gotta keep in mind we're big surfers here brah. I guess it's more materialistic because since it's so huge here, we have a bunch of posers who strut around in all the gear, talk the lingo, have the equipment, but have only been out on the brakers a couple of times. that's so flaming.

boy bands are made to sell out, you cant be in a boy band and keep it underground, the whole 'show' that they put on is meant to be appealing to little 12 yearo old girls, so fuck them they can suck there own dicks

I used to be into boy bands until I was about 14. They are just 4 or 5 good looking guys who can't really sing, but they look good, so they sell albums. A lot of the time they're not allowed to have girlfriends, and if they do have them they don't tell anyone. Its basically a marketing ploy to sell records! They also have constant pressure on them to look good and they have to act good all the time because they are roll models for little kids.
