Ive been seeing a lot of shit talking about girls and how they suck at skiing. well if you think that then think about this. Girls have different minds than us, you guys should know that. Its way harder for them to get the motivation to do the stuff that guys do. Its not sexist, its the truth. So if I see Grete doing a alleyoop 180 on a super big hip, i think its awesome. my friend would just be like, "Girls need to cork their spins." thats ignorant. give props to chicks that rip.

im not sexist either. it goes both ways though. yeah girls think different and all, true. but thats not a good excuse to not even try. k, Grete is a huge, huge exception. im not talking big. i just get sick of girls bitching and getting competitive over skiing. its like an illness. chill and have fun. i had this one friend when we first started going into the park that wouldnt even try 180s on the kiddie jumps cause... the jump just didnt feeeeel right. i hate that.

bottom line is, i think, realizing your potential. people who can ski groomers alright and do a 3 just jumping off the ground totally have it in their abilities to ski the park. capitalize on that and everything rolls forward from there.

no way, girls would get sponsored more easily just because there arent many female riders out there, definately not good ones. A full advantage to them.

it's harder for girls to get motivated? girls who ski with guys push their boudaries a lot more than they would have skiing only with girls. keeping up with the guys is motivation enough to rip the shit out of every inch of snow...

 
thats like me exactly, i grew up skiing w/ all guys and my sisters, but both of my sisters are amazing. and i love it, cause its really pushed me to be a better skier, now a days, i still cant ski w/ other girls, i have to ski w/ guys that are better then me cause they push me. like i love skiing w. my sister and her boyfriend because they are both on the US snowboard team, and they push me to try stuff that i would have never tried on my own.

im a girl, i ski, and it really pisses me off when i see those snowboard/ski girls who dont push themselves and just sit in front of the jumps/rails looking pretty instead of going for it and trying something i mean why ski/board if your not going to try

A thirteen year old boy is essentially a girl...a pre-pubescent boy has the same muscle mass and size (generally) as similar sized girls...

so why is it that you have 13 yr old BOOSTING and floating incredibly technical tricks...and you dont see any women of any age with that level of progression??

I know many women that kill it...many that can beat 99.99999% of all of us down the hill or in the park...but at the highest levels...how can a Shawn White at 13 or 14 destroy all men and a TOP tier pro rider like Tara or Gretchen no be able to do half of what a pre-buscent little boy did six years ago...??

someday some girl will most defiently break the yo factor apart and ride at the same level as pro-dudes....but right now it is a different standard and girrrls should not stand for that...you women should call out a so called pro girl skier if she sucks and was just sponsored because she is hot....girrrl skiers should not be treated as models but as athletes...

i totally agree with skierclygrlie... its ridiculous for girls to be so damn competetive. i know i ski becuase i love the sport and i always will. to me its not about how good i am or whos ass i can kick. fuck all that. ski for the love of skiing!

im a girl...and i ski...i just dont have alot of people to ski park with...my few friends who i do ski with are all racers...nothing against racers...but its hard to learn on your own...well its alot easier to learn when there is someone there with you...going u dumbass u didnt do that right at all, try it like this....but still none of my friends like to ski the park...hopfully this year will be diff....girls can rip as hard as guys...they just need the confidance same as ne one else....i mean if a guy takes a nasty fall the guys are like ahhh dude that sucks....a girls falls and its haha stupid girl trying to be like the boys

Saying that girls aren't up to the level of guys for lack of motivation is def a generalization...there are plenty of girls who aim to be GOOD not just good for a girl...this is a pretty new sport-give us a season or two we're rising to the challenge.

also, we don't need to be pushed by boys--I've learned all the tricks i know on my own, I ski alone alot, it's about dedication and having it in your blood, not about having enough competition to make u step it up.

i think its so cool to see other girls rip. i kno that sometimes girls can be like " eww. this is my mountain, whys she here!?". but really. just make friends iwth them cuz chances are, their arent many girl skiers there. at my mountain, there are only two, sometimes three girl park skiers. and us 2 and sometimes 3 (when shes not working ) stick together and are good friends. and idk. its fun to ride with girls. because sometimes guys can be intimidating and stuff. but when you just ride with girls, u can stand their looking at the jumps, or being nervous or whatever as long as you want.

and with the whole falling when your a girl vs falling when your a guy, i totally agreeeee with whoever said thattt. i fall alot. but its MAINLY because im trying something. idk i just i love being a girl skier. i just wish there were a few more around so me and my best bud iris didnt ahfta be the only real girl park skiers here. ahhaah

I dont know why there arent better girl skiers. Compared to guy skier girls arent even close. Granted its a male domonated sport, but you cant use that as an excuse. People saying that girls dont have as much muscle is shit too, there are plenty of girl out there stronger then i am.

 
Does it have anything to do with how the different sexes handle fear? That is what is holding back most of the chicks i ski with.

Its just annoying when girls say things like "I ski because its hot" or talk trash about another skier, when they dont even know them.... It just gives the rest of us girls, the girls who are out there because they actually love skiing, a bad rep....

To say that girls have less motivation is just wrong, but I know what you are trying to say. Girls generally have a harder time getting themselves to take risks than guys do.

 
that is such a bad attitude. you probably aren't as good as some of the guys you ski with but they still ski with you. you should do the same to other girls, ski with them and encourage them to progress

 
i totaly agree with you, when ever i go skiing w/ my girls friends im just like w/e but when ever i ski w/ my brother and his friends who are older and alot better than me, it pushes me to do better, and all of the tricks i've learned have been w/ them not my girl friends

yeah its more fun that way. its tough to ski/board w. other girls especially when you push yourself a bit more than the others(and i hate it when people complain) thank god i met my best friend grace she pushes me and we compete against each other, makes it more fun
