To all the Ski companies....Please put out good graphics on woman skis....I am tired of half naked men and crap like that....I look at all the mens skis and they are so cool, and I would just buy them but I am 5'2 and i dont want a pair of 170s......so Please improve the graphis....yes I am a girl but girls like cool stuff too
 
My lady ski companion has arw's with the topless dudes, they're pretty sick. You seem like a magic carpet muncher.
 
I've always questioned the need for girls skis at all. Companies should just make skis for people, not girls or boys, just people.
 
it just seems like a marketing ploy. Most of the skis are just a few mm different in dimensions, and come in shorter sizes with different graphics.
 
Guys (for the most part) are stronger than women. they have more muscle in their legs and can handle a bit more. . . normally. most womens skis are exactly the same except some few minor changes. I know in alot of the volkl models they change their typical wood core to a much lighter wood.(pretty sure its balsa wood but not 100% sure on that). If you don't want womens skis then dont buy them? you can get plenty of junior skis that will fit you.............
 
Seeing as the flex on womens and mens skis are completely different. Your theory is dumb.
 
I'm 5'4" and I ride 176's and I'm a chick.

Top sheets aren't the only thing that sucks about girl skis so maybe don't ride them.
 
girls skis are lighter, softer, and the mounting positions are further forward. and to the op your retarted there are tons of girls skis out there with tons of different graphics.
 
it's tough and you can't please everyone as we all know. Women's ski performance/design is done by the same smart guys (and gals) who make the mens, but with women's influence, opinions and testing. Our womens graphics have been done by women artists around the world forever. (example: Claire Scully / Pandorahttp://www.thequietrevolution.co.uk/ )
 
Ditto. 5'4" = 167 mens skis & 175 womens skis.

I won't lie, my womens skis have the ugliest graphic, but who cares when they're covered in snow :)
 
haha obviously you must ride shitty skis. I've rode Armada ARWs for a few years as well as K2 missdemanors and 4frnt madonnas and they have never snapped or had awful graphics. im 5'3 and i ride a 171 or 169 for park and its prefect size and I feel in control. so expend your horizons and demo more ladies skis, cause companies do look beyond men when constucting a good ski for the ladies.
 
Why the hell are these girls riding huge skis? 5'4" and 176 cm skis?
I'm 5'9" and I ride 161's.. Armada AR6's.
 
I wish that ski companies also made more aggressive skis for girls, and in a little bit longer of a length. I am 5'11" and end up just buying guys skis all the time because, a. they dont make womens skis in 177cm, and b. they are wimpy skis. /rant
 
if you wanna shred hard, small skis dont cut it.

if you like guys skis, just do some work and look into them, there are some soft skis out there that would great for girls. i know salomon has some good chick skis out there too, and they dont look half bad (no halfneckd men, na mean?). theres lots to choose from...

Im saying nobody has ever heard of you and since there is not a trick named the Douchbag (named after you) I think you are not good enough to judge people on if they are good or not
 
I know, especially if all these girls are supposed to be hitting the park more (never seen one on skis) then why would they be using massive skis, hitting rails with skis that are taller then you are must be challenging. Using your example, you are using skis that are 4 to 5 inches bigger then you are...
 
then why would they make womens skis? dont talk shit unless your truly better then all professional women. which i guarantee you cant do half there tricks. so shut the hell up and dont post your negativity
 
It's really no different than any other sport..look at soccer men have 1,000 different boot combinations but women are restricted to only a few and most of them look like shit
The market just isnt there for most companies to put tons of $$ behind design
Regardless..there are still plenty of girls out there that shred 100x harder than 90% of NS anyways

Time for a lesson in economics.

Girls who ski are in the minority, both among girls and among skiers. Will will focus on the latter. If you have ever lived in a ski town you will have noticed that there are about 10 times as many guys as girls, you probably would have noticed since you would have slept with 9 of them in the last two weeks. Since most guys are straight, there is a high demand for ski chicks, and a very very small supply. Thus as is the case with any scarce good (yes I am refering to ski chicks as a 'good'), we find that the supply and demand curves create a very high price with little elasticity. This high price often includes a pair of skis, which the guy will buy for his girlfriend who slept with his best friend last night, because the best friend also bought her a pair of skis.

As you can see, creating women's skis is a very profitable business, since guys have to buy them in order to get their best mates girl to cheat with them.

Also there is the quite large population of incredibly wealthy business men who must buy their trophy wives a pair of skis in order to get out to vail and sun valley for a week, where said trophy wife will spend alternate days between the spa and shopping.

Also, While I don't have a trick named after me. (Isn't Mike Douglas the only one with the D-spin? and I could never hope to be as awesome as that cat) I do have a ski named after me, and it is not called the douchebag, but I think I might recommend a name change, either to that, or to the fucking awesome and amazing MAN ski.
 
personally i love the pandora line skis 09...i think those are the ones but anyway they're really artsy, like a lot of lines other skis.

have you ever been to a legit ski town?

the only thing to do when the mountain closes is fuck, and get fucked up. which go hand in hand. and wouldnt it make since that the people who ski and snowboard would live in said ski town? since alot more guys shred than girls it happens because of ratios. look at govy or skykomish wa.

I agree on the fact that girls skis suck, but I have come to terms with it. I just buy skis that I'm interested in and seem right for me. I'm 5'10"... chick skis aren't long enough. BUUUUT I'm not going to buy anymore park skis. Fat skis from now on - 186 Bibby's.
 
They are not huge at all. In fact, they fit perfect. They are S7's and are rockered and are for powder that is deeper than your skis are long. My park skis (ARW's) are 171's. By the amount of air it looks like you got in your picture you should probably be on some bigger skis yourself. What do those come up to, your nipples? Have fun with your snollerblades.

I agree that most women's topsheets have super girly graphics. Why? Because that appeals to girls. Not all girls, mind you, but enough that it's worth having.

WOMENS SKIS, a case study:

Characters: me, 5'6" 130lbs, AltaBird skier, former sorority girl.

Ingrid, 5'3" 150lbs, AltaBird skier, former mountain biker.

Skis:

2009/2010 Volkl Kiku. Girly graphics but designed in brown, blue, and white. A perfect blend of girly and not-girly. A girly topsheet makeover for the Gotamas.

2010/2011 Kiku. Same graphic, silly pink colors. I think the pink is terrible, but Ingrid is obsessed. She LOVES the girly-ness, and they're still the same, kick-ass Kikus we know and love.

2009/2010 Volkl Kuro. I am in love. I love everything about them, including the brown wood-grain. Ingrid, on the other hand, thinks they're hideous. I got a pair, while she is holding out for something more girly.

Lets get this straight- a sorority girl hates the pink flowery design on the Kikus? Yes. A total badass loves it? Yes.

So, to each their (her) own. Look around and you'll find something you'll like. Good luck!
 
That's funny. I'm kind of a tomboy but I love the girly skis, too. Pink all the way!!! (I'm a girl in disguise on NS).
 
Why not just demo some mens skis? You might find something you like. I know that you are only 5'2'' or so, but you can probably rock a 161. Thats a decently popular length.
 
I dunno but i think the missy lineup of skis from K2 are pretty sweet. Some people have there thing against K2 skis but I like them and they ski aggressively like the mens seths or fujas do
