So I'm getting really sick of girls posting their self taken, picture phone, mirror shots on newschoolers. Please, take it back to myspace. If it is at least in some way ski/snow related word, shoot away. But posting photos just to look for comments about how hot you are or how nice your over exposed tits are , please spare me. You know whats going to impress guys a little more ? Throwing down and actually skiing. Not showing how pretty you can looking sitting on yer ass.
 
ha , word. what would make you think any differently. I would rather see other girls killin it to be honest. So maybe this will motivate a few.
 
well, a lot of the time when someone with a very low post count (such as yourself) makes a "call-out" type thread, it is usually an alias. i'm not saying you are, but yeah......that kinda happens sometimes. not as much as of late tho.

also, good points.
 
wtf? what is with the hate? sure she made a thread on a topic that has already been discussed, but come on dude, it IS a valid point. that is way harsh. and i don't think her pic is "myspace" at all. it shows her with her skis OUTSIDE actually using them. - karma.
 
Hey, some girls here rip, and they do the myspace pic deal... and I'm not gonna lie, "Myspace" style pics or whatever they have going on now, end up pretty damn hot. I like seeing hot girls. And if they post it here... well, there's no more need for myspace.

I for one agree. Use facebook or myspace for your 'life' shots, this is a ski website, and if you upload a picture onto servers bought with NS members donated money, you better make sure its ski related.
 
correct me if I'm wrong... but there is a "people" section in the Pictures, and a summer section, and a misc. section. What do we use those for?
 
i like both pictures. one so i know that girls aren't useless. and and the other so that i know that the girl is really hot
 
The only people who should be talking shit about women in this thread are women. If you are a guy and you don't enjoy looking at women, you're a homo, period.
 
I'm just advocating for a little more discretion when it comes to those aspects of what you post. If you're going to post a huge sequence of Halloween party photo's, go do it on facebook, the 100 random people who look at them here will appreciate them much less than your friends. By all means, post a few lifestyle pics for yourself or just to show your face behind the goggles, but come on. Only about 20 of the photo's on the most recently added are of anything having to relate to skiing, and half of those are goggle designs that, while cool and artsy, should have been put into a private gallery and showcased in a thread. Its bad, its a ton of useless shit that clutters up the photo section and blows the good quality skiing photo's off into back pages before people can see and appreciate them. Nobody is realistically going to sort through 3 pages of wash to see some cool ski shots. It sucks, and we need to fix it. Maybe make the link when you go to pictures "skiing only" where its just the ski categories and all, or just subdivide between skiing and people/art/misc. Maybe put a disclaimer or something, it needs to change.
 
I would agree that certain people need to use more discretion, however

the way the site is currently set is pretty on. It is possible to

filter your photos etc by clicking on the tabs provided on the left and

the possibility of viewing all is quite nice for members who want to

save their clicker finger. If they change anything it should be setting

the showing of just jumps/rails/bigmtn as the default filter when

clicking on the photo section while adding a "view all" tab. Other than

that, take this guys advice, keep others in mind, and let the karma

flow like wine and beautiful women will flock instinctively to ns like

the salmon of Capistrano.

i think i pretty much agree with some of the last few comments above. it's not reasonable to say that there should be nothing posted that doesn't directly relate to skiing, because much of the experience of this site has become each members identity that is kinda formed as a result of their comments and opinions, pics, vids, etc, and for people to be themselves, a lot of the time that means skiing, albeit a hobby, is not the dominating force that rules someone's life, esp. during the warmer months. i think that limiting how one can express their individuality like that would only detract from a good aspect of what this site has become. do i appreciate a flood of lame pictures that i don't want to look at...no, but i don't have any right to say someone else can't post them. complaining about it might cause a little change, but then i would become just about as annoying to others as what bothered me in the first place. so my opinion is that it's best to go with the flow, with gentle reminders in the event somebody really hinders anyone elses opportunity to enjoy themselves with what the site can bring. no need to have a comment on every face shot with a little "myspace" bash. i have a picture of my face on the profile, and some comments on it that say i was fishing for attention or something stupid, when really, it's just so people can see what i look like and b/c i liked the pic. and i'm a guy, so the commotion would be 100x more with a female...maybe 1000000x with a real 'beauty'. everyone should just chill a bit, and let peace dominate your hearts, as a friend once said to me.
 
fuck that shit, i want to see some slut showing off there good. I mean come on, this is the fucking internet why not? Im sure the girls that are posting pics of there tits ski too, just becuse they arent as good as you are dosent mean they cant do what they want.
 
Sesh doesn't speak for us guys. We want to see you pretty. Preferrably pretty naked. Who cares about a picture of you doing a backflip off a 50 foot cliff if we can't even make out your tits. Know your place.
 
I personally do not care whether a girl can ski well or not, I mean its real cool if they can, but I am not gonna think less of them if they can't

I just like to see cute girls in nice little skier/boarder outfits looking hot.
 
good suggestion, but i dont mind looking at some occasional eye candy.

it gets me fuckin stoked when i see girls shreding the gnar. or making an attempt to. i hate it when a chick looks all intimidated, i want em to be comfortable ridin with the big boys!
 
the way to fix the problem without restricting what people post is by simply allowing the pictures get bumped up every time someone comments on the picture. Truly good quality pictures will get comments from admirers often enough to keep them in the front page for a good long while.
 
It's not just girls, I guess most of the people who use this site don't know how to ski and so they just have pictures of them trying to look cool in their bandanas If I want to see pictures of hot chicks there are plenty of places to do that on the internet, but the albums are full of shit photos.
 
i find it real hilarious that you guys worry about shit like this.... i really didn't read all the responses but who cares, just don't look at the peoples section. Thats what it is there for. I mean if you were looking for skiing photos you wouldn't be looking in "people."
 
you could be like jen hudak. i think it was in one of Freeze's last issues or something, maybe freeskier, but she was airing out of the pipe and a nice little pink thong was sticking out! yay!
 
Finally these girls are learning! We will watch and care when you lose the clothes. It's by no coincidence that beach volleyball is the only majorly televised womans sport. Take the clothes off for christs sake and let those g-strings and boobs hang out! That's the only way womans sports will ever be worth watching.
 
Well that makes sense. Don't put huge albums of your party like facebook... Just put in one or two of the meaningful of funny pictures. I understand that part, but I enjoy the non-skiing, lifestyle aspect of skiers, as well as pictures of random hot girls splattered in a skiing website.
 
In general as of late, I have been very unmotivated to post any pictures whatsoever on newschoolers, in ANY category, mostly due to the lack of respect of the people on here. This post doesn't directly pertain to the original thread.. I'm just voicing my opinion that I think people just need to relax. If you don't want to see it, don't click it.

On that note, yes it is annoying sometimes to see all the myspace type pictures and such but here is one place where you can put the Karma System into effect. Don't like the pictures someone is posting? Rate them accordingly. Like the pictures they are posting? Rate them accordingly!!! Too lazy for that? Message them, and state your opinion. Not in an asshole way of course. Be nice about it, you get much further. OR how about if you see a n00b posting a whole tonne pics at once, tell them NICELY to take it easy (for their own good because they may 'lose respect'). In a way, this thread was voicing your opinion.. so thank-you, but we also have to realize that we promote diversity and there is picture sections for a reason.

That's all for now, sorry if I sounded condescending at all or totally pointless, as I definitely digressed from my original point.... which was simply that I hope to see more respect happening between members especially as our community continues to grow at such a fast increasing rate.
