Girls + rocker

its cause they have larger hips *cough*bigbutts*cough* that naturally keep their center of gravity back, so they naturally have less problem with tip dive

dude the only reason women won't butter is because they know if they did they'd totally fuck us over.

Big ass = more torque. True fax.

Yes, actually many times.

also say a girl nollie 3 off of a fairly large jump. ONe of the coolest things I saw last season.

Center of gravity? mmmmm, doesnt mean there shouldnt be neet technology in their skis.

I think it's probaly just because theres just not the market to justify a producer makeing them. No knock against skiers of the female variety but good ones that are willing to drop the money and be a skiing enthusiast are few and far between. Plus it's not like girls desperately need specific skis they can use men skis. I find it hard to believe how many girls park skis there are.

see the freeskier buyers guide... wait did i just say see the freeskier buyers guide? yea, well, unfortunately, the most informative information was on the topic of womens rockers. i would pick the salomon czar if i were a girl. go america

I'm going to say that because the vast majority of rockered skis are soft there is no real need except for graphics.
I mean they make the bent in a 169/174 which is a fine length for women but they graphic could be the issue.
For me it's graphics and length not stiffness of 'women specific' skis that are missing.

Any girl can ski any ski, there are going to unisex/mens skis that are as soft as womens skis, and womens skis that are as stiff as mens/uni skis. It all comes down to looks in my mind.

I'm sure moment will have a rockered womens ski next season, almost all of their other skis are already.
but to answer your question, i have no idea.

Touche indeed.

The question came up with a lady friend and she is kinda pissed. Doesnt particularly like girls graphics... "Girls who rip, dont like flowers" she said.

I just got bibby's and she wishes they came in a 74 length. There just isnt much out there like that. And there should be. I mean... fuck, cmon!

maybe lib has a length like that with btx? anyone know?

Yeah man, I completely agree with the flowers comment, but at the other end I don't know any girls who have seen the bents and been like 'ooooh I love those'.

I reckon, If you talked to moment they would bend a Pika or sierra for you. I mean they obviously have a press for a short rockered ski as the planks which are coming in a 176. They seem like the sort of company that would do a special request like that. But maybe not.

I skied with a girl at Alta who rode Hellbents and loved the graphics. She even named all the skulls on them.

wow. this lady friend of yours sounds like the raddest girl ever.

someone should hook her up with some sweet new skis!

actualy ryanvdonk is correct.

Girls tend to have less problems with tip dive due to where their natural center of ballence is.

Rocker like all ski tech, has it's advantages and disadvantages. The obvious advantages of rockered skis are that they float easier and allow the ski to turn quicker. Girls tend not need the rocker, for flotation (its biggest advantage) as ryanvdonk said. Also due to the geomotry of Women they tend to have a much easier time turning skis then guys do, so the other advantage of rocker is not necessary. Rocker does have disadvantages, these include lack of edge control and stability. The two places a female geometry does not help. due to their smaller size and different center of ballence Girls do not have the natural stability when going fast as guys do. Nor are they able to preasure and hold an edge as well as guys are. Putting rocker on a womens ski would make these problems worse. Since their weight is naturally further back then it is for a guy, imagine how little stability they would have on a ski with tail rocker. The likely hood of falling on their ass would go up tremendously. Rocker also reduces the amount of edge contact between the ski and the snow, This would be considerably more hinderence to girls then it would be to guys.

So basically: The benefits of rocker are not as helpful to girls while the downsides of rocker are more of a hinderence then they are to guys. combine that with the fact that the market of girls who would need/want a rockered ski is much smaller then it is for guys, and many rockered skis are soft enough for girls and you get why there is a lack of rocker skis marketed towards girls.

rocker chicks kinda scary me sometimes

like

the leather and piercings and lotsa makeup and spiky jewelry...

not attractive at all

i believe it means the point where the tip and tail lift up off of the ground is moved farther in towards the binding thus making it "rockered".

ok fine most girls don't want a rockered ski. but I do. in a 170-175. I don't care if it's a girls or guys ski. can anyone find one?

yah, i see her all the time up at alta.

and if i were big enough to ski the bents, i most definitely would consider it..

but i'm too short, so I'm going for the missbehaved- short and fat. (oh baby)

i was going to say the same thing, except i was going to quote the post about her rack (sorry if you read this please dont beat me up)
