Girls: ponytail hole in a helmet - opinions?

Whenever I have long hair, what I do with it in the winter is always an issue. A friend of mine made me a hat with a pony hole and I love it, but I'm wondering if I'd like the same thing in a helmet.

I found this one, and I like the look of it, but I'm curious to hear what you guys think of pony holes if you've tried them:

Thanks!

Warm, definitely not... but I'm sure it's safe - there are vents in every helmet, this one would just be a little bigger, no?

Anyway, any girls who've tried this??

i think if you cut a whole that is going to compromise the structural integrity of the helmet, thus making it not safe, probably prone to cracking... not to mention voiding any warranty you get with it.

the helmet would be fine and looks good to. of course its safe, helmets are produced to prevent the head from injury. i would say go with that helmet and dont alter another helmet which may cause issues.

"pony port"

that sounds so cool and high tech, i want a helmet with a pony port

haha

major selling point right there

but on a more serious note, that helmet looks legit i say go for it.

i forgot my last part of my post

That helmet should be fine with the "port" built right in, looks nice too

I agree with those who said the helmet's structural integrity would be compromised. Vents in a helmet are strategically placed to not interfere with a helmets ability to absorb an impact and then tested to insure their functionality. Altering you're helmet could cause it to crack or break apart with impact. Many companies go so far as to recommend you replace your helmet after a large impact even in no cracks are visible since microfractures may have occurred.
