Any girl freeskiers in the Inland Northwest that ski Schweitzer, Silver, Mt Spokane, 49, Lookout, etc and are interested in joining an all girl freeski team out there??? I'm working with Sports Creel Spokane, Freeskier Magazine, Salomon, AND Rossignol right now to put this together! There will soon be more supporting companies. It will be awesome, we'll travel, compete, session, and have a damn good time!! Post something if you're interested!!!!!!!!!!! I'm looking for girls ALL AGES the more girls the more things we will get to do!!

Why not get in touch with K2? Rossignol is in France... K2 is in Washington. They seem quite a bit more open for things like this too.

K2 may be in Washington, but I am yet to get a reply from them. So far I've gotten feedback from Freeskier Magazine, Sports Creel, Salomon, Rossi, and I just recieved a letter from Smith today. All companies are willing to support the idea, if it's hooking the team up with proforms, getting them exposure, helping with sessions and camps, etc.

yeah thats cuz WSU is in a hellhole town. I love it livin' in Spokane skiin between washington and idaho. like 5 mountains to choose from. granted the westside is hella sweet too tho

yeah mt spokane is definatly not one of my top places to ski, silver sucks, lookout isnt worth it, 49*--yeah ok, right. so that basically leaves schweitzer, and yeah schweitzer is fun, but i'm over that place as well....but if I had to choose within the spokane/cda area i would say schweitzer over all the others.

are you sure your working with al these people that you claim you are.... last i heard too proform isnt a form of sponsorship its a hookup for cheaper gear..

Lookout is awesome if you can enjoy 2 chairlifts and all bunny runs under said chairlifts. Its tiny, but a ton of fun in a group.

yeah im pretty damn sure who I am working with on this. no one can get sponsorship unless theyre any good. pro-forms just count as an added bonus. This team isnt all about finding the next Kristi L or nothin its bout gettin girls together to just progress and ski together. The girls that are good enough to compete will, and will have ins with the companies I'm working with. The whole point isn't to be some all pro team. It's to get better, have fun, and if you're good enough or get to that level you WILL compete and you CAN become sponsored. It's a CHANCE to boost any girls into the ski industry that want to be there, but for some reason people just like to bash on the idea. Why would u talk crap about it girls, instead of just joining up? It doesn't cost money, it wont hurt u in any way, and there's a lot of perks to being part of something like this.

i definitely like the idea of getting girls together and skiing, i mean that was basically the whole idea behind Progression ski camps. unfortunately im pretty much on the "outland" too

Sorry for everyone that lives in "outland" NW. I live in the inland NW and that's why it's here right now. Hopefully next winter I can possibly expand to the westside when I move over there, but until then I'm sorry!

About Sports Creel...I have been talking with Mica and TJ (owners) about it, and they support the idea, and want to be involved, but we won't know what they will contribute to the team until the team is actually put together! Sorry to be so vague, it's just hard for companies to say EXACTLY how they will help out unitl they know exactly whos on the team, etc and we won't know that 100% till the season begins!

all they're saying is you'll find a lot more girls interested if you look on the westside. I'm gonna be a Baker all season and I already have my snoqualmie pass from last year so I've got my two mtns. I can't afford any more. mountains are expensive...

um... christine... let me think a second... umm..... HELL NO!!!! it's my home mtn. and even tho I won't be there as much this year, there's still like winter break and weekends....I'll miss my friends there if I don't visit... I'm planning on having 2 mtns this year...

Um PS Micah and TJ are not the owners of Sports Creel, the owners are Herb and Lihn. and when have you gone in to talk to them about this because I know all the ins and outs of the shop, they are where I've gotten my ski stuff for the last 18 years...and pretty sure I havent heard anything from them about them helping out with the team, and believe me I would know. So make sure you get your info right before posting on here.

Alright, I know Micah and TJ aren’t the owners, but if you go in there obviously Herb and Lihn aren’t around very often. That’s my bad for saying they’re owners when it’s really Micah’s parents shop. You’re right you probably haven’t heard anything about the team from them considering I just recently told them of the idea and plan, and am going in tomorrow to drop off the team sign up poster and sign up sheets for them. I sat around with them and talked about the team for over an hour, they told me what they told me and I am pretty sure they wouldn’t tell other people about our conversation until things were for sure put together. They said they’d spread the word and to get them a poster and sign up, etc and they support the idea, like I’ve said before. It’s a ski shop, they don’t contribute in the same way as companies, they don't sponsor like them. Believe me I would know…I work for one. The liabilities are too much to deal with. So make sure before you say I don’t know what I am talking about you get all the info. I did say Micah and TJ were owners, and they aren’t but they run their families shop and they are who I deal with there.

It's hard to rep a company that already has a rep for this state. I'm pretty sure Shawn (the washington rep) has it covered. I never said I knew everything either, but I do know everything I've done so far for this team, and who I've talked to, I don't see why people are hating on me for it. I'm not lying, why would I to a bunch of people who don't know or care who I am? That'd be lame. But if it's just gonna get hate for the idea then forget it.

Ok, Obviously my post the night before didn't get put up, for some reason or another. But it's come to my attention that there has been a HUGE mix up with all my information. When I first posted I said it was to find girls who were interested in joining a team. Like I have said before this was an idea that is still in the works...and all the details have been vague. Everything from companies, to team members, to coaches have been coming together more and more each day. I have listed companies I have been working with (By working with I meant discussed with, which is truly what I SHOULD ahve said) about supporting the idea for this team. That is my fault for not explaining what it all meant. There has been a mix up about Sports Creel, it's in part my fault because I missworded the post. I said that when I talked to TJ and Micah about this team they were interested in supporting the idea and being involved, by involved I meant getting the word out to the local girls who come into the shop, and that is my bad for not being completely direct. It was mistaken to mean a sponsorship, I have never mentioned a sponsorship from any company, there is just support. Support through variouis ideas, offers, and potential aid of any kind. In this case I actually got beaten to the sign up and I was too late with my follow-ups about the team due to various reasons. That's my fault for not being on top of everything. There's no excuse, that is obvious, but just to be absolutely clear here Sports Creel is not a sponsor they were interested in supporting the idea and getting the word out (that's what I meant by involved), but due to a few missused words it gave a different meaning. The other companies listed are companies that have contacted me either by mail letter or telephone, telling their interest in the teams plans and wanting to show interest and support for this coming season. Right now I am in negociation still with every company besides Freeskier Magazine. Sorry again about this missunderstanding, there won't be anymore for sure. Any further questions I will gladly be very direct in answering, and, hopefully this team will come together because it's a great idea and my messed up explanations hopefully won't bring it down. But I've learned and maybe people will be understanding in this whole mix up.

your street cred is building. But I have a question, are you thinking you can eventually make money off of this? What are your motivations?

 
The mix up was how I worded support and involvment. By support I don't mean sponsorship. I mean a company manager has contacted me and offered my something or other to help start and keep this team up. By involved I meant getting word out or just saying good things, that's all I need....is to get the word out.

My plans for this team is to get girls something to do, and have their own team so they won't have to compete with the boys during sessions and for company attention, etc. This team is totally non-profit. There is NO fee for joining, the only fee's a member would pay would be lift tickets, team hoodies, any competition registration or camp registration costs. I won't recieve a penny from this team. It was just something I always wished I could have joined when I was younger, so I wanted to give other girls that chance. I am trying to contact so many major companies because I know it will give girls that join an extra in if they want to continue in the ski industry. I eventually want to start up a 2nd branch of the team on the westside when I move over there for college, but that will only happen if this team succeeds in starting up over here. The bottomline is i just wanted to get other girls, who are way better than me, and still have a chance and making it big or just getting better that exact chance to do something they love. I know it may seem sketchy because of the big companies I've contacted but, not to sound cheesy, but it's so open up more doors for the girls who join up. I love to see other girls succeed at something I won't be able to and I know so many girls who would be great. they deserve that chance.

the first step in knowing that your wrong is admitting it. GOOD JOB! the second is to appoligize to the companies that you mislead for misrepresenting them cause you pretty much shot yourself in the face on that one..

Already did all that. Admitted I can't explain myself worth crap, apologized to who it affected, and explained how other companies are even part of all this so it won't happen again.
