"Girls In The Park Day" idea. suggestions please!

GIRLS IN THE PARK DAY

heres how i think it would be the funnest. also...suggestions please!!!

I want a day in the park on the east coast where girls are super hypeed.

do u think it would be funner if it was just a fun day with no comp? or should like a mini comp be involved? because i want this to be an opportunity for all of the girls that are too intimidated by even hitting a flat box to come! i pretty much had so much fun at queens cup this past winter that i was inspired to try to get somethinig together for the girls on the east! like have teams, with maybe some weird contests lke make a giant snow chickien? girls like weird fun shit like that. anything that would encourage more girls in the park. it could be open to snowboarders and skiers.

so if there was enough interest in it there could be enough girls to have a couple small teams, a few team leaders or coaches or something, and have a slopestye comp and then a series of other random contests. like best gaper outfit or a build the best snow chickene contest or somethng. i dont know. i want something fun like this to happen at stowe this year. maybe even another moountain if there were a better mountain for it. i want something like this on the east tho!!!

thoughts please.
 
I think a mini jam within a camp kind of atmosphere would be fun. let me know if you need any help planning it aja. I'm deffinatly interested.
 
yah for sure! i would love that. i bet caity could help too cuz of red bull. bah i cant wait til this winter! but a mini jam witha camp type atmosphere would be so sick.
 
sounda like a good ideaaa. id deff do it. make there be a comp probably like at the end of the day, a night jam would be fun..like after riding for a whole day for prractice and just riding with a bunch of people.. but i would say to have a guys division too..its dope riding with the boys also.
 
GIRLS IN THE PARK DAY: Revised

A competition on the east coast, maybe at Stowe or Loon Mountain with a Camp-like feel to it. It would be most fun if it were an opportunity for all girl riders to participate in an on-mountain event and get them into the park.
After the Queen's Cup Open, I was inspired to look into organizing an event like this, with really good vibes, organized teams, coaches, and a good turnout. It could be a slopestyle with other series or random events or contests such as "Build the best snow chicken Contest" or "Best Gaper Oufit", or something of that sort.

But I would love it if an event like this could be hosted possibly at Stowe Mountain, or whichever mountain in New England would best host this event.

Thoughts please. Thanks!

ps. I revised it because someone thought that by my grammar and carelessness in my original post, I was not serious about this idea. So I hope this one clears it up a bit.
 
the one at blue mountain was progression ski camps....they had one this year but it wasnt the same. the coaches were denise, kim, jen and sarah burke. it was awesome! i drove 13 hours form boston to go to it! loved every second of it!

loon offers a dopping in weeekdn for snowboarders and i have been trying to get them for 2 years to add skiers to it. it is a weekend camp and its wicked chill. but they alwyas tell me there will be no intrest. then this year the events manager katie told me i could help her organize it and it never happened...by helping she ment she wanted me to do all the work. and i think she quit b/c loon has a job posting for a new events manager.

but this would be soooo sick. if you want some help planning it i would love to help! i know mos the park crew at loon.....but i think it would be sweet. even if we just have a day were all the girls from ns get together and ski at one mountain. id be down for that. i love riding with girls.
 
I have a contact who could probaly be help for you. She works for burton so snowboarding is her area. She really strives to get women excited about and involved in snow sports. she does women learn to ride clinics and women park clinics and who knows what else. I'll message you her info.
 
dude aja this sounds sick!
we should def work on organizing it next year. and we can do like a day of camp, with a mini jam at the end... no two set runs, just an hour of jamming with judges picking out the best three or something... then it would be waaay more relaxed and fun. hell, maybe we could even get some pros and big companies involved and stuff.
i am TOTALLY down for helping you work this out, i think it would be SICK... let's do it
 
heck yes!!!! lets do it. i like your idea. like a day of jamming and maybe a mini jam at hte end? who knows what it will turn out to be. with a bbq and afterparty.
 
Go get 'em, girls. Take that future and run with it.

Is it possible there could be two Queens Cups next year? Maybe talk to the organizers?
 
that my friend is my plan for the future!! haha im planning on majoring in college in public relations so i can do event planning and do all this kind of stuff, help the ski industry grow and motivate girls to get more into it! theres something like it here kinda... its queens cup probably all you know what it is haha.
 
i lawled, but seriously good idea, but even more seriously i will be there with my friend so scope down some hotties hittin park so let me know when this is happening
 
I wouldnt hold a slopestyle because its the most stressfull and intimidating. Id have a big jam on an easy wide box to get the shy girls to come and the rippers will be able to go crazy on it. give prizes for progression and fun levels..... have a giant TRAIN! through the park at the begining to launch the day.... like all the girls wait at the entrance of the park and they all go down together doing hitts ... its super fun. The gaper outfit is a great idea too .... i like it! its cool that your getting involved with the ski scene and most importantly the girl scene kuz lets face it, it needs more incouragement! keep up the good work and good luck, if im around il try to show
 
whattt idk about you guys but i like intimidation..it makes me a better rider.. i love going out and riding with boys usually because girls around where i live dont really take it seriously. just have a big jam then a raill jjam with prizes or something at the end. and you cant let there be no guys division..i mean they dont make railjams just for men. but dope idea...deff follow through
 
boys dont need their own rail jams. there are enough boys that are usually generally pretty good. the point of thiswouuld be for there to not be guys. just because i know for a fact that so many girls are intimidated by park and being shy and u wouldnt believe how dumb that sounds but its true. so a day like this with sugar coating and whatnot would really encourage all the snowbunnies to ski!

and i agree that being intimidated can sometimes encourage, but probably not for everyone yaknow?
 
oh i know what you mean. there also needs to be a divisionn for girls that are more advanced too then. like i know you want girls that are shy to get involved.. but the girls that already ride hard should also have a day where they can just have a fun jam allday too. like the roxy chicken jam, or queens cup but for east coast riders.. it sucks that everything is out west
 
i don't really think there would be enough to justify an entirely different division. that also kind of defeats the purpose of the jam, which is to bring girls together to ski in a relaxed setting....not stratify us. "girls that already ride hard" can "have fun and jam all day" with the rest of the girls. the last thing we need to do is create an elitist separation. having an entire extra day just sends the message that the other girls aren't worthy or something
 
Seems like a dope idea.

Women freeskiing is so overlooked in many events and mellow girl specific event seems to be enjoyed by everyone involved in them.

I hope you get the support needed to organise an event like that on the east coast.
 
That sounds really really chill, and i'm def down as long as im out here, i'm moving out to colorado at the end of summer.

Great ideas for sure, i know i could get a lot of girls to come up
 
it would be dope and not retardedly expensive at loon, this could be cool, not very many girl events out there
