the GirlZ team will have another round of cuts and tryout's in the near future. Don't be harpin on them, try and give em a little support. I know that there is a small talent pool on the GirlZ team. But that is because there are 25 of them. at any rate, how can more girls on the hill be bad ? It is a win win stituation.

Molly has not worked at meadows or with the team in some time. Rosie no longer works for meadows, and it is still up in the air if she will be back.

I am on the GZ team and I had a blast. I entered my first comp and met girls that i can ski with. And for your info. I was in the park everyday that wasn't a pow day. and NO I don't just sit there and watch Sammy and Tommy ski, I ski with them! ya maybe not as good but I am learning...

That was meant for Freezed, he doesn't need to be hating on something he knows so little about....but ya , well at vegitate there was charle throwing threes and stuff, she was the only girl to hit the big air jump too, she kicks ass!, but just local girls enter the contests. there are so much fun! are you going to try out for the team? we need some more skiers, we only had 6.

i think so yeah. that would be so fun, from what i hear it was awesome. i cant believe there were only 6 skiers out of 25. dont we get like a free season pass too?

By far the best female skier I've ever met tried out for the team, but didn't make it because she wasn't attractive enough. That's how the GFT works. This girl rips Armada ARV 185s and shreds big mountain like she's got balls the size of coconuts. But I guess she's not photogenic enough for Mt. Hood Meadows.

i am having a meeting with meadows about the GZFT and i hope that it will be different this year, i really think they need to have GOOD skiers on the team, not just pretty girl, i will bring that up in the meeting. but if you are a girl and you ski you should defidently try out!! you will meet so many girls!! i will keep everyone posted on what is going on.

Try and remember attitude goes a long ways to make or brake you in the world of snow sports. Or any sports industry for that matter. you can have all the talent in the world. but if you don't have personality, what's the point.

also you may or may not have noticed that every girl in the ski industry is good looking. but meadows by no means bases their decisions on looks and personality alone. talent comes first ! . If someone you know did not make the team. Chances are, it wasn't because they were not good looking. if you think you have the skills to be on the team. don't wait ! contact meadows !

thewhitesalmon: I agree, but my own personal bias tells me that the person I mentioned above not only skis better, but has a better attitude and a richer personality than almost every girl on the GFT. I won't be a stickler about it, though. I just call it how I see it.

Nevertheless, the GFT is a good idea and I hope they get their heads straight over at Meadows and put together a good program.

If your friend is is such an all around better choice for the GFT. surely you won't mind saying who she is. After all, We know who is on the GFT. trying to better your mystery friends image at the expense of the current team members is just plain weak !

Alright, while I'd say that the talent on the team wasn't as good as it could have been, I'm sure that that's something that will be changed for the up and coming season? I only ever saw two of the skiers compete (not including Sally), and only ever saw one other girl in the park unless I brought my friend along with me.

once again, having 25 was never the final goal. rather a starting point. charlie, harmony and heidi are the 3 skiers that pushed it all season and competed. if you feel you have the skills, do not hesitate to contact meadows. As far as the skiers go, with the exception of charlie these gals are some what new to the park. but that was the whole point ! To get more girls in the park and help push the sport from the ground up.

I saw Charley (BBC), Sally, Harmony and Heidi throwing down all year as well, and I'm stoked to see them going huge, having fun, and progressing. In no way am I trying to insult the members of the team who love to be on the hill for the sake of skiing/snowboarding.

My mystery friend's name is Claire Smallwood, and she doesn't know I'm talking about her here, and she'd probably be pissed if she foud out. All I'm trying to say is that this girl skis as well as any guy I've met, and loves skiing with an intensity that I don't think some of the poster girls on the GFT have. I'm not sure whether she'll try out again this winter because she likes to ski for herself and she usually avoids the park. If you saw this girl ski, you'd know what I mean. That's all I want to say.

Yeah the girlz freeride team is a good thing. It gets more girlz involved with the sport, and is just alot of fun for them...how can that be a bad thing. Just cause there all newer to the sport, and learning doesnt mean there shouldnt be a team. The team will just help them get better, and have more fun, which is what matters.
