Girls and skiing

There are a couple at my hill. I haven't really seen them ski, but I think they're decent. I think they're more into moguls though.

At momentum this year some 12 year old girl was doing switch-ups to pretzels and stuff. She threw down. The rest of the girls there weren't bad either, but definitely not throwing anything insane. Girl's skiing has a long way to go, but at least they're doing it and having fun. That's all that really matters.

and she is pretty good.

but 99% of the boarder chicks are snowhoes.
 
I know personally I like to progress, just like everyone else. So if I feel like trying something new, I'll do it. And if I don't stick it, then oh well. As long as I'm out shredding then it's fine with me. I don't give a shit if I can't do a 270 on, that's also perfectly fine with me. I just don't have that drive inside me like most guys who spend hours working on a 9 or backside switch up.

Not speaking for other girls, but it seems that way for a lot of them.

Oh, and if I'm skiing with a group of girls, I wanna push harder. But with guys, I really don't care either way.

 
girl i feel ya. i do what i want, i have alot of drive and am very competitive, esp with myself. if i want to learn a new trick then i will hike for hours until i get it. like my goal of camp this year was to get 270 off the box....and i took a day and hiked the box until i got it, then once i got it i kept hiking so i could do it over and over because i was so excited that i landed it!

i love to ski with girls! but i like to ski with people who are better then be whether they are boys or girls because they push me to do better...but shredding with a bunch if girls who can ski park is like the coolest thing ever!

but michelle we should soooo ski together this year!!

 
i wish more girls skied, my ideal gf is one who skis just a little worse than me so we can still do all the same stuff but she doesnt show me up
 
obviously it's not THE reason. but it is one "disadvantage" that can be proven statistically (and pretty much every pro skier girl i can think of has blown a knee at least once, and that's a huge setback). THE reason is probably related to why guys aspire to be on jackass and girls think they are retarded
 
I actually see a decent amount of chicks at my hill (Big Boulder)..they're probably all on here, too haha. Molly, if I go to Bear Creek this year at all you hhaaave to teach me some stuff okay? Anywho, I mean I ski with my boyfriend all the time and I couldn't have more fun, and he really helps me out a lot. At camp this year I got to ski with the siiiickest chicks who all KILLED it. But sometimes, as much as I like skiing with girls, I almost feel like its more intimidating at times since there's so few of us to begin with. Plus, to be honest, not all chicks that ski are chill.

When i ski i like to ski with people that are chill and just generally nice people. i dont really care if they are a girl or guy it dosnt matter. pretty much if they are a nice person theyre cool and ill ski with them.

i think the reason girls are behind guys is because girls have a different mind set when they ski i think. for example some guys will go out and ski their hardest adn learn tons of new tricks. not saying girls dont do this. where most girls i think dont really care whether they learn a new trick or not just the fact of being out there and having fun is enough. alot of guys prolly feel that way too but thats how i see it. i thnk some girls cant take falls either because they are the kind of girl thats like OMG i broke a nail one fall and theyre out. not saying girls that are big on apperance arent good skiers but ive seen ome girls go out take a small fall and not throw anythign the rest of the night.

I don't believe that's the reason why less girls ski park than guys. I'd guess it has more to do with the intimidation and general risk involved. I think there is a lack of girls in all adrenaline sports, isn't there?

 
Haha there is most definitely a lack of girls in all adrenaline sports. Especially motocross. Mountain biking too. Around here, anyway..
 
There are only 2 or so girls in Alaska who are into freestyle skiing. The rest are highschool girls who put on a shitload of makeup and hang out in the lodge with their snow gear on just to be popular.
 
Do you guys ever look at the pics from the chicks on this site. There's plenty of tricks and rails being thrown by these girls.
 
The best trick I have seen a girl do is a spread eagle, but it is my dream to have a girlfriend who skis and is good in the park, and would give me head on the way up lifts(aka my dream is to have a snowbunny)
 
i remember a dope day at loon and i saw this chick absolutely throwing down...

it was intense i almost didnt want to hit shit cause she just owned me so bad..haha

whoever says girls cant shred is obviously mistaken
 
Only if you are looking for a highschool whore with no self-esteem that you can treat like an object and use as a cup holder, but other than that, they are useless.
 
My girlfriend fuckin slays it at big mountain, and were from jackson so u know were legit.... i dunno she seems way more driven then most tho, its awesome when girls kill it although it is kinda embarassing when she tees-off a bigger line than me haha but i am stoked
