how many girls out there do you think can 2sev, sw up , pretzel etc ? Up until about a year ago I think I had never seen a straight up 270 onto a rail from the ladies. Theres plenty bitties that would own me in the pipe or even off jumps but you have to admit if you were in the park and saw a girl spin a 450on 270 off onto a FD box or somethin you would jiz your pants. Some of the most tech tricks i can remeber ever seeing were michelle 270 onto a flat rail, grete spinning blind 4s off and kim lamar (sp?) slaying this down rail with fs and bs sw ups and pretz on this flat box

 
its true did you see the paul mitchell open a few days ago? there was the sickest up rail and there was like a 10ft drop off of it and like 1 girl did a 270 out most didnt come out switch, oh and 360's without grabs were some of the best shit done in girls heat, i think there was one penciled 720 but thats not much better. anyways i think girls need to step it up theres no reason that they shouldnt be progressing as much as the men of freeskiing

The Killy girls are all rocking some crazy shit on rails this season. Some things I see allot of dudes back down from.

I am glad to see that they are stepping up and showing us they can own just as hard, if not way better, then we do. Just a big "told ya so" to all the haters.
 
i'm not being an asshole but it is rediculously easy to be sponsored or to win a comp if you are a girl, there is such a little amount of competition that if you can do okay 5'ves and solid 3's and some switch stuff and like 270's on to boxes you can have an okay sponsorship. it's so unfair

ill say right know yes there are more good guy skiers then girls...but one day the chicks will be kickin are ass cause theyll be way better and there way more flexible then us, watch and c they will take over the world
 
anyone bitching about how lucky girls are, remember that they have like a 1.2 billion times higher chance of tearing their acls.
 
i don't even care if they can do any of that shit. girls who jib or jump or w/e on skis are hot.

haha this winter my 46 year old mom and her sis were out in crested butte and some teenagers taught her how to do rails

i cant even 270 on. i tried to learn, but its so darn difficult. i can 270 out tho, that was hard for me to learn too. girls suck.
 
girls are progressing so much, just look at sdarah burkes seg in focused, then see her seg in push. Big progression, just the guys have a big lead.

Seriously, seeing a girl do anything in the park at my mntn is nuts, there aren't many girls who can do anything.
 
girls should be way better at jibbing.if you didnt have to worry about nutting yourself youd be 10 times more likely to go for it.
 
im not gonna say that it hurts more...cuz it proly doenst...but it still hurts like a bitch when you get raped by a rail...and you can bruse your bone and it still hurts
 
+ not to bite into ya', but I'd like you to be paid 70% on average what a male earns for the same work -- then see what's fair. not in freeskiing but for the rest of your life in any job you get, often with less respect, sexual harassment -- prevalent all over NS, btw -- less benefits, and so on. don't forget we still live under all kinds of institutional sexisms. most of us don't even realise what women have had to fight for (the vote, equality, rights for owning property, children, over one's own body and sexuality). most of us don't even realise that the fight is far from over -- women still aren't paid as much as men.

+ so yah women often have to struggle much more to even do these sports. still today most girls are brought up not to be into sports unlike most guys who are born into a sport culture. so yes women freeskiiers are only just now coming of age, and today's best will offer role models for the next generation, just like Lynn Hill did for women climbers with the first free ascent of the Nose, El Capitan, Yosemite.
 
Yes girls skiing is awesome, but I'd have to agree with easty on this one. I'd expect atleast a couple more girls to be slaying rails by now. I realize that alot of girls can 270 or whatnot, but they're hard to come by, and mostly pro.
 
if guys want more girls to be good at skiing then they should be more supportive. a lot of the guys i ski with dont care about what girls do and are into themselves.... which is fine and im used to it by now but sometimes all girls need is a little encouragment, someone to watch and give advice. keep that in mind too if you wanna date a skier girl.
