Girlfriends and skiing

So the other day my girlfriend and I were talking about skiing. I noticed throughout the conversation that she was becoming annoyed. when I asked why she said I was obsessed with skiing. She further went on to say that my obsession is unhealthy. Moral of the story is I don't give a fuck and my girlfriend just doesn't get it. Anyone else have something like this happen?
 
Some girls don't understand had a none skiing girlfriend and blew her off on the weekends from the months of dec-march.....she wasn't hyped. But, I have a girlfriend now and she skis an is all about it and its great! All about finding the right girl!!!
 
I've been with my girl for 6 years ans she HATES skiing. About a year into our relationship, she pulled the same shit your describing. Was taking about skiing coped an attitude and then told me i should stop skiing.

I shut that shit down real quick. I pulled the car over and said, I will never stop skiing, not for you, not for family, not for ANYONE. you don't like it you can take you and your shitty attitude and walk the fuck home.

after that she never says shit. I know she still doesn't like that i ski all the time but frankly don't fucking care. I love skiing and if you try to come between me and what i love you will loose, guaranteed.

My gf is more like that about cars. I've spent way too much time and money on building cars/motorcycles over the past few years.

"come on baby, just one more motor rebuild and turbo swap and we can hang out, I promise"
 
I had a girlfriend last year, not a long relationship at all but it went through a portion of the ski season. I didn't blow her off all the time for skiing but I would ski from 9-5 then hang out later. I immediately denied going to Florida to her beach house to go to PC sooo worth it..a week prior to the trip we broke up.
 
i met my last gf skiing, so i don't know what that's like. we just broke up and i'm dating someone else now, but she hasn't said anything about it
 
Thats how my girlfriend is with horses. It's her life and if that's what makes her happy, then I'm all for it. I like to ski and so does she, but not as much as me. It's all good though. Doing some activities apart from each other is healthy.

If she bitches about things you like to do, it sounds like she's not the one for you.

hahaha this same thing basically happened to me! although this year my gf has been talking about trying skiing so we'll see how that goes.

Ditched my first ever date because the local hill announced it was opening thanksgiving weekend. Average opening day here is Christmas so i was so excited lol
 
I was sure to make the wise decision to never date anyone who didn't ski. And it has paid off. Nothing better then park lapping with your boy and then going home to watch ski movies.

I highly suggest it.

try and discover what she is passionate about. find some common ground. it's hard for anyone outside of a community [a culture, a lifestyle, a family, a collective sense of purpose], to see WHY you are obsessed.

if you are under 20 years old, just dump her and date someone who actually has interests.
 
This brings up a more interesting question: How many of you really want a girlfriend that skis and follows you around all the time?

I find most skier chicks annoying with their positive attitudes, white girl bullshit, and rich parents. Snowboard girls are a little better.

My girlfriend told me she loves and supports my dreams. She told me to continue moving to Whistler for 6 months even though I wanted to give up and stay with her. She is THE BEST!!

I miss her a lot though and I can't wait to see her.

My girlfriend and I had the same talk but I don't know if I want to take her now. I don't feel like having to deal with it at this point

QFT, very similar to my ex, she pretended to like it at 1st, then realised I wasn't going to swap skiing or mountain biking for sitting on a beach doing fuck all.

Trying to explain to my girlfriend why my car is too loud to have a conversation in and won't make it over your average speed bump.
