Girlfriend just bought skis...

So she recently just picked up a pair of Surface DoubleTimes for cheap since she wanted to upgrade to twins and start skiing park more.

She's around 5'4"-5'5" and pretty athletic (soccer player), and can hold her own skiing all mountain, she's been skiing for a while and at this point the only thing holding her back is confidence / nerves. Do you guys think the 160's will be too long for her or will they get the job done for what she wants (which is just to be able to hit rails and jumps, nothing too crazy)

Thanks a lot my dudes

she should be fine, it may just take a little getting used to with a taller ski. I rode skis over my head for 2 years (some big Abangs) and actually really liked them a lot, smaller size would have been nice for spins, but it is what it is.

With her being 165-168 cm tall it sounds like a perfect size for her if not even a little short for some people's liking. Hope she likes a stiff ski though, might not be great for a beginner in the park but at least she can still rip the rest of the mountain.

tbh they might be a tad long. Have her try out some demos. it's the perfect time of yr for buying cheap demos with bindings, and then she can for sure have the right size. I say this because I'm 5'6 and a half and wouldn't really want to go over 157 for trees and such. As a lady in the park, you want a ski that you feel mad comfortable with, and is a tad buttery, cuz eventually they're going to be lacking in edges.

ha

hahahahahahahahaha

hun i'm riding a 175 in trees and i'm 5'7"

its really not that bad

to OP, those skis will be fine, after the initial adjustment she'll love them and having a stiffer and longer ski will really help her skiing

I'm her height and ride between a 165 and a 175. If she's just at the point of puttering around and starting in the park 160 should be perfect. If she really starts pushing her skiing she'll probably want to go up a length at some point, but 160 should be a good length to develop on.

Sounds like a perfect length ski to me. As she progresses she'll probably want to be riding a lengthier ski. I will never ever ride something shorter then I am tall ever again. I used to ride like that and found it good but once you get on a longer set of boards, no looking back.
