you should get to know the ones that are here haha. There are so many and they are all mad legit and kill it in the parks. Not sure I have ever seen you session with any of them :: (

.i was asking because I am making an event for Champlain's ski and ride club called "Girls in the Park Day"...and was wondering who the up and comers were if any at all...

thats the reason i made this thread. plus its always nice to know if more are coming yaknow?

ps. ben youre not a girl

I live in Vermont. Is the Day in the Park thing open to boarders too? If not the turn out would be like 8 girls

no "Girls in the Park Day" would apply to both skiers and snowboarders...haha yah i wouldnt want just like 8 girls that wouldnt be cool ;)

GIRLS IN THE PARK DAY

heres how i think it would be the funnest. also...suggestions please!!!

do u think it would be funner if it was just a fun day with no comp? or should like a mini comp be involved? because i want this to be an opportunity for all of the girls that are too intimidated by even hitting a flat box to come! i pretty much had so much fun at queens cup this past winter that i was inspired to try to get somethinig together for the girls on the east! like have teams, with maybe some weird contests lke make a giant snw chickien? girls like weird fun shit like that. anything that would encourage more girls in the park.

so if there was enough interest in it there could be enough girls to have a couple small teams, a few team leaders or coaches or something, and have a slopestye comp and then a series of other random contests. like best gaper outfit or a build the best snow chickene contest or somethng. i dont know. i want something fun like this to happen at stowe this year. maybe even another moountain if there were a better mountain for it. i want something like thsi tho!!!

thoughts please.

I mean most fun. Do you want me to retype the entire paragraph so it's grammatically correct and to your liking professor?

GIRLS IN THE PARK DAY: Revised

A competition on the east coast, maybe at Stowe or Loon Mountain with a Camp-like feel to it. It would be most fun if it were an opportunity for all girl riders to participate in an on-mountain event and get them into the park.
After the Queen's Cup Open, I was inspired to look into organizing an event like this, with really good vibes, organized teams, coaches, and a good turnout. It could be a slopestyle with other series or random events or contests such as "Build the best snow chicken Contest" or "Best Gaper Oufit", or something of that sort.

But I would love it if an event like this could be hosted possibly at Stowe Mountain, or whichever mountain in New England would best host this event.

Thoughts please. Thanks!

not to hate but i really don't see why you have to have a sponsored competition / jam just for girls to have fun skiing park, why not just get together and ski park like any day? to be realistic i think it would just end up being a bunch of 5 foot wide butter boxes and the banger trick of the day would be who can land a 270 off.

if we want to get an event sponsored, why not? rail jams occur all the time with and without sponsorship, but it would be really sick to have a sponsored event at a place that i know for a fact, so many of us girls call home for the winter. i'm not saving guys have it easy, but why does almost every guy in here have to have a negative attitude? really? c'mon.... i thought everyone was down for progression and a good time. is it a problem that it's exclusive to girls. hot damn..

i'm not having a negative attitude i just don't see why you have to have a mountain close a park for a day so some girls can ski park when you could just ski regular park like any old day.. you want to get girls stoked on skiing park right? so why does this have to be limited to a rail jam?

i'm not trying to hate and if you really wanna get a sponsored rail jam / slopestyle then go for it, but i just dont know what mountain is going to want to supply judges, close their park, supply prizes, liability shit, etc..

stowe actually did something like it last year, except it was for snowboarding. I remember because I went to smuggs that day, and I'd never go to smuggs unless I had a reason to

i think u should just get a crew of girls together nd shred...u dont need to have a real comp or anything...its all about progressing and shredding fer fun...learn something new...share your wisdom with others...have a 270 contest :)

my thoughts:

i've been snowboarding for 8 years, skiing for 1
particiapted in and won several rail jams(on my board, obvi. can't quite hit rails on my skis yet)

but the most fun i have ever had at a rail jam was at the Pretty in Pink k2 Jam at Mt. Creek (my home mtn)

hurrah for vagina filled events!

+no pressure to win/throw down/sacrifice your body. there's a lot of camraderie that happens between ladies. we were all pushing each other, learning new stuff, just a nice chill atmosphere to progress

+ all-girl events open up opportunities to riders of all abilities. a lot of n00b girls swould come up to me after jams and say "you're so chill, i see you in the park all the time and you're really good but i'm intimidated to ride park'. Many girls who otherwise wouldn't even be in the park or competing come out and get into it.

+free stuff/prizes are always fun :-)

+i'm one of those girls that pretty much only rides with guys, but it's nice to get a break from the dudness that surrounds me all the time. Some of my best girl friendships have been made at these all-girl events.

+you don't have to close a whole park for a jam...

sweet idea

i go to uvm, and i'm looking for more peeps to ride with too! i just got twin tips last winter and i'm a chicken-shit when it comes to park and i'm looking for people to help me out, so you should do some sort of clinic too...

haha foreal

just ski... have fun , enjoy. I ski with kids who are way better than me all the time and it doesnt make me shy to try tricks... i dont see how this is any different

i do have fun, enjoy. and ski with kids who are way better than me. im not too shy to try tricks cuz of this...but i know many girls personally who are. so have a heart. some girls are actually shy or arent encouraged...its alittle different.

sponsors?

How about Pearl Street Beverage? If there is going to be a chick comp then the only thing any man is concerned about is where the after party will be

yo i haven't been on NS in a while and just came across this. did you girls make any progress on this idea? i got to UVM and i would be so down to ride with some girls for a change. we should do something early season, i'm going to be in central america for spring semester and need to get as much skiing in as i can before i leave.
