my thoughts:
i've been snowboarding for 8 years, skiing for 1
particiapted in and won several rail jams(on my board, obvi. can't quite hit rails on my skis yet)
but the most fun i have ever had at a rail jam was at the Pretty in Pink k2 Jam at Mt. Creek (my home mtn)
hurrah for vagina filled events!
+no pressure to win/throw down/sacrifice your body. there's a lot of camraderie that happens between ladies. we were all pushing each other, learning new stuff, just a nice chill atmosphere to progress
+ all-girl events open up opportunities to riders of all abilities. a lot of n00b girls swould come up to me after jams and say "you're so chill, i see you in the park all the time and you're really good but i'm intimidated to ride park'. Many girls who otherwise wouldn't even be in the park or competing come out and get into it.
+free stuff/prizes are always fun
+i'm one of those girls that pretty much only rides with guys, but it's nice to get a break from the dudness that surrounds me all the time. Some of my best girl friendships have been made at these all-girl events.
+you don't have to close a whole park for a jam...
