That was wayyy sick! I have no idea why this thread isn't more hyped up right now. This is for sure a big deal for the progression of women's freeskiing. I hope more people check it out.

Aerials isn't skiing. The kicker practically sets your trick for you, they just have to make the spin happen. They have basically no general skiing ability either - Canada has had word cup aerialists who get taken straight out of gymnastics and to a water ramp. Slap a pair of skis on their feet and you have a champion. A lot of them learn to ski after they start competing.
Big air actually requires that you have general skiing stance if you want to survive when you jump. And there is no such thing as a big air skier that doesn't compete in any other discipline of skiing - freeskiing pros are complete skiers, aerialists are gymnasts.
I highly respect their sport and what they do, but it is NOT skiing.

" its a small flip for a woman, but a giant trick for womankind"

^ actually not a small flip, but the quote wouldnt make sense otherwisesick dub flip, hope to see more doubles from women.

Damn. Big step in girls progression, if girls start throwing these in comps, then everyone will have to learn them etc. to compete and it will boost the skill level the women are at! NICE WORK!!!!!!

Freeskiers make all sorts of claims like this because aerials is really so much more badass than anything we do. "They're Gymnasts..." is not a good claim because we are too more or less. Look how everyone practices on tramps and ramps now just like they do. The fact is they do much harder tricks on much larger jumps so stop talking shit.

no u u got it all wrong. skiing, is skiing on "real mountains, with real cliffs, in real snow, with helicopters, and not rollerblading with skis under your feet"

Ive been girls hucking doubles like this since they were like 12, fucking sick she got it props to her. But all this bullshit about womans progression, fuck it its nothing if there not equal. I will still skip through every womans segment in every ski movie.

And the only difference between that dub front and one off and aerials jump is poles. Sorry to say, but not that amazing of a feat. Kay's switch 10 however was real cool, and definitly influential to the sport

Just a little thing from the Norwegian article:

the other girls were doing 720s and 900s (With grabs i believe) so she thought she needed a bigger trick.. so she tried this and landed first try, only having done this a couple of times on a trampoline 2 years ago.

Fucking sick.

I was a the competition competing and watching the girls finals. All the other girls knucled on 3's and 5's without grabs and a girl did a 7 and landed it. The girl that did a 9 didn't land it but it was a big 9 though, haha.
