whats your favorite brand/style of boot for park/all mountain skiing? looking to get some new ones.

or if anyone has some for sale???

+k for helpful answers

Go to a bootfitter to find what fits you best. Not all boots are made fore the same feet. Your feet will thank you for it

Derp. I said fore instead of for. I should probably go to sleep.

It's very true what the other guy said. You honestly are best going in totally open minded when it comes to boots. Get what fits the best not what other people like. Really there are no bad boots as long as you stick to the bigger brands.

Important things to remover though. You can always make boots bigger bit smaller so buy on the small side. Get custom footbeds. That is probably the most important thing in boot fitting. Expect them to cost around 200 bucks so make sure you budget for them.

If you can afford it, they are amazing. If not find the best Generic footbed. Its better than nothing.

Haha ok, i was planning on doing it while i was home anyways. You live in the detroit area right? Any places you like to go above others around here? Im used to living up north and going to boyne or the ski haus to do it.

I asked the Burton rep about "women's" bindings once. He told me that a binding can't tell what you've got in your pants. Same goes for boots. Boots are boots. Just different colors and flexes. Some boots are cut a little lower in the cuff, to give more room for larger or lower calf muscles.

But go see a bootfitter.

^ this is not entirely correct, Bindings are one thing as they do not directly interact with the body, Boots however do. Woman's calf muscles come lower down the leg then that of a mans. Because of this woman's boots generally all cut lower and have more room at the back of the calf. Woman's feet are also generally (not always) different shaped to mens. Because of this woman's boots often have a wider heel or slightly higher instep.

Now obviously just like men there are many many different shapes of feet and legs, with woman, so sometimes a mens boot my work better, however generally it will be best to start with a woman's boot as this will generally give the best starting point for a good fit.
