Gimped! What's your injury list? Sports related.

- busted out 6 teeth

- broken collar bone

- bone chip in my knee/sprained MCL

- bruised heel (this actually fucking killed)

- slipped disc in back

overall not too bad, every injury was skiing related- wouldn't have it any other way

Heres what the scar looks like almost 5 years later.

It's 6.5 inches long and I have no feeling left in that side of my thigh due to nerve damage.

1 concussion

tendinitis in both Achilles

Osgood Schlatters/sore ACLs all the time

gnarly bone spurs on my feet from my boots

and more recently what i think might have been a dislocated rib from the tramp which is still sore 8 weeks later

Yes, definitely... I've had some pretty major traumatic brain injury, and it's greatly affected my short-term memory. Furthermore, I have headaches nearly 24/7, and it doesn't take much to trigger a severe migraine. It's not something I'd wish upon anybody. Take care of your brain!

Word. I wasn't trying to be rude or sarcastic in anyway, I can never tell with people over the internet. But I was being real. Your brains are important people! It is what allows you to learn new tricks, besides the rest of your body.

Some (but not all) of my injuries, almost all of which occured before I turned 23:

Broke 9 vertebrae before turning 20 (I'm now 26)

Broken sternum

Broken right tibia

Broken right radius (x3)

Broken right ulna (x5)

Broken left radius (x1)

Broken left ulna (x2)

Broken ribs (x9)

Broken metacarpals and carpals in right hand/wrist (x4)

Broken metatarsals and tarsals in right foot/ankle (x3)

Broken every finger and toe multiple times except one or two

Broken jaw

Broken orbital

Fractured skull (+brain surgery)

Torn right ACL, MCL, LCL, and meniscus

Torn right peroneal tendon

Torn right rotator cuff (x2)

Torn left Achilles (partial)

Tendinitis in left forearm

No idea how many concussions

I didn't sense any sarcasm at all; I was completely agreeing with you! Two nights ago, I asked my boyfriend if he was going to brush his teeth... five minutes after watching him brush his right next to me. I'll forget what I'm talking about in the middle of a sentence sometimes. It's incredibly frustrating and embarrassing. :(

torn ACL, torn meniscus on both sides,

Bone Contusions

fractured patella

6 broken fingers

shoulder problems and pain that I'm scared to ask a doctor about

-All skiing, I'm fully healed and ready to go this year!

Not entirely sure... But I'm tougher than I look! Thankfully, I haven't had any major injuries for the past few years, and I'm finally getting my knee surgery (six years later) next month.

My body hurts. A lot.

vibes dude, atleast you'll have some badass stories when you get older. I'm getting a bit older now and I got some pains myself so I can only imagine what you're going through. As long as you can still ski, it aint that bad!

if you have had 3 or more concussions you should probably go see a doctor. wouldn't be surprised if you just didnt wake up one day. thats seriously messed up. protect your brain people

broken both collarbones

broken humerus

acl reconstruction x2

medial meniscus transplant

broken fibula

who knows how many fingers/toes

Curious about the corresponding surgeries/recoveries from each of these injuries if you would be so kind. A sparknotes version would be fine.

both shoulders separated. Dislocated shoulder. Displaced vertebrae. Concussion. Broken toes, fingers. Left arm broken once, Right arm broken twice. Various cuts, bruises, sprains. My knee got stuck once and that fucking sucked.

I've had one Grade 3 concussion (the worst kind) and it took me about 2 weeks to start thinking properly again. Head injuries screw you up big time. The most aggravating part for me is that I can't remember that whole day no matter how hard i try. Its just weird that 24 hours of my life disappeared from my memory.

Advice for all of you guys, don't go skiing the park 2 days after you get your widsom teeth out. I hit a 35 footer and blacked out in mid air and landed on the knuckle head first (I was wearing my brain bucket, don't want to imagine what wouldve happened if i wasn't wearing it). We skied a couple more runs but my friends go worried after all i would say was yes or no to anything they said. I still have no memory of that whole day of skiing.

I hate moble. 3 concussions, broken ribs, broken arm I never got casted, broken toes, fingers, nose 3 times, a knife through my hand, and a metal spike through my foot

Broken collar bone, nose, wrist and ankle. One pretty bad concussion. But damn there is alot of head injuries in this thread.

3 concussionsbroken foot

3 sprained wrists

torn MCL

fractured femur

3 broken fingers

broken thumb

just compressed 2 vertebrae in my back. that was fun

pulled a shit ton of muscles if that counts

So far I am at 2 concussions (skiing), cracked left kneecap (indoor soccer), messed up neck from wrestling (don't know exactly what is wrong with it but I haven't been allowed to play contact sports since 5th grade), and broken right tibia x2 (skiing and tramp). Preparing for more this ski season, should be fun.

Thank you. They're not so badass when I think about the fact that I might not be walking again if I give birth or when I'm 35. We'll see, though... I've made it this far!

I hardly ski anymore. I took up competitive distance running after my last major back injury, but my knee is limiting that, too. Weight lifting is my major outlet these days. I'm hoping to get more back into skiing after my knee surgery, but I honestly don't think that my back can handle my aggressive style anymore. I don't have any cartilage in my right hip anymore, and shit hurts! I have pretty bad arthritis in my back, combined with fused vertebrae.

This is an x-ray of my back from six years ago:

ouch. if you think about this though, when you were a kid you weren't idolizing the older folks that were charging-- you were idolizing the older shredders that were doing super smooth turns. it's all about the turns! I suggest you pick up a few 30 racks, a one-piece, and some straight skis for this next season!

ok lets see....6 concussions

dislocated knee

broken knee cap

dislocated ankle/ripped ligaments

broken collar bone

4 broken fingers

dislocated elbow/ripped nerves

2 dislocated fingers

slipped disk

pushed 2 vertebrae out of line in my lower back

broken/dislocated jaw

several broken teeth

Self inflicted. I was trying to untape my hockey stick and the knife slipped and went in my hand in my palm and was poking out the otherside.

5-7 concussionsTorn ligaments in groin and knee

Blood clot in leg that finally drained after almost half a year

Stitches on chin

Stitches in forehead

Bent ribs/out of place

A lot of chipped teeth/missing

Sprained ankle

Still haven't broken anything, knock on wood.

Fuck mobile. Broke left radius twice, cracked right ulna. Broke left tib/fib. Left ACL tear. And a bunch of stitches.

fractured skull/subdural hematoma

fractured collar bone(currently as i type)

fractured wrist

strained ACL resulting in other minor knee problems

Hahahaha that's very true! If/when I get back into skiing regularly, I'll be rocking ON3Ps 'til I die! The one-piece is a definitely possibility, though... :)

how in the figgety fuck did that happenand how in the figgety fuck has no one asked that yet

and balto please explain how all that shit happened

and you guys are all gnarly. or fucking stupid idk. the worst injury i've ever had was 13 stitches in my leg....

&

Broken wrists, both arms.

3 times had to get stitches on my head

1 time had to get staples in my head after eating shit on a double backflip (trampoline, /claim)

Numerous bloody noses from eating shit or getting hit by shit, as in gushing blood, not some pussy dribble.

Big blood blister under my toe from skateboarding, not very impressive looking but one of the most painful injuries I've ever had. Burned the nail bed popping it too, which was fun.

standard stuff like sprained ankles, large turf burns, bruises, gashes, etc.

Been generally lucky so far. Knock on wood.

6-10 concussions, 4 major- waking up in the hospital

Heel fractures x3

Elbow fractures x3

Wrist fracture

Torn Meniscus/Partial MCL tear

Broke front tooth

15 stitches in chin, wasted skateboarding to faceplant

11 stitches hand

10+Broken toes

Carpel tunnel both hands- construction injury

Broke my pinky finger playing basketball and broke my pinky toe playing soccer barefoot. Never had a concussion or anything seriously broken before and I'm grateful for that.
