GI Joe's = Useless

GAH!! They don't know anything!

first off, the lady who sold me my skis at the GI Joe's booth at the expo center told me that i could get them mounted for free if i showed my receipt. But, when I went today, they were like...NOPE, its 40 bucks.

Before that though, I told the "binding tech" that I wanted my bindings mounted without lifters...which he could not comprehend, he told me it can't be done, which of course it can...

and another thing, I was trying to buy a trickle charger for a car battery, and after waiting ten minutes for the only person at the auto parts desk to help me (he was arguing with someone about a engine or something), he had no idea what i was talking about, and had to call his manager, who led me to the wrong thing...eventually he showed me the right thing, but they were $70 when they should have been only like 30 or 35.

basically, GI Joe's is awful.

Agreed, the Eugene GiJoes employs some the most magnificently incompetent people. The employee who continually followed me around the ski section while I was searching for bindings had not ever seen snow.

ha ha ha. i have never had a good tualitan gi joes experience. which is sad because i worked for that company for 2 years. but at one of the decent stores that hired people and ski/bike techs who knew what they were doing. except for one that darwin'd his way out of the company but that's another story.

to summarize, gi joes overall, awesome company with awesome corporate level support for the stores. store level, hit and miss depending on what store you go to. never go to the lake oswego/tualitan stores. the turnover rate is soooo astronomically high there because rich kids whose parents support them get a job there and then when they don't get the days off they want or don't get whatever they want they just up and quit because they can.

It may be the "shit" but it is over priced most of the time. When Gi Joes has a good sale it will always be lower than anything *BERGS* has to offer. Mostly because they are a bigger company that can offer more competitive prices.

Although, I do shop at both. I just happen to be at GI Joe's once, and the name of this thread was GI Joes=Useless so I decided to comment on my experience.

spend 20 bucks more at bergs and you get people that know how to ski and know the sport, i wouldnt get my skis mounted a gi joes even if some one payed me too, same goes with copelands they sold me a pair of last years bindings in the fall with half of a riser kit,

Congrats, do you want a prize?? I know what I want and need so I don't need to pay extra to have someone from bergs hold my hand. In addition, I never said anything about getting my skis mounted at GI Joes anyway, I do that myself???
