Hey! What's up everyone? Thought I'd let my Ns Fam know what's been going on.

Things been busy! Right now I'm out in Colorado working with some stations out

this way and stacking some events on the slopes for this winter.

huge success! Doing everything I can to hold it down for the ski community And

I just got off the phone with one of the program directors at GC RADIO I had over 2,000 call in requests for my song SO FLY!!! I want to give thanks to all my fam especially my Ghost Girls and Every single person that took the time out of their day to call in and/or email the request in to make my song the #1 requested song in VALLEJO and San jose. I want to give a special thanks to all my fans in Colorado who stayed up late to call in! and bust their ass off to get my song played 6 times!!! YESS 6 times!!! in one night. I also want to thank all my fans in Sonora - Jenna, Ashley, Courtney, Ally Jones, and all my other fans up there. special thanks to all my fans on NEWSCHOOLERS.COM and all the skiers that blew up the phone lines!! he basically is just another white rapper. look at him, he's looks like vanilla ice. ever seen the white rapper show on vh1? he looks like he would be the perfect contestant, and that show isn't even about getting famous, it's about laughing your ass off because of how stupid the contestants are. there are so many songs out there talking about how "So fly" a rapper is. and that beat for that song sounds so familiar, did you sample it or something? want to impress me? rap about something else, not about how cool you are. and produce some beats that dont sound the same.
 
half-true, half not. I'm pretty sure he made the beats himself. They all have the same basic style.

and the song "red white and blue" isn't about how cool he is, I'd love to see more stuff like that though.
 
Just another white rapper? He's from our community, he's our blood straight from NS. Maybe he could use some work, but it's not going to hurt having a fly skiing rapper. Stfu noob.
 
oh yeah, i could imagine the music video already. him wearing a snow suit and goggles and rapping while he's skiing. if he wants to be successful, move to europe, because he'll get laughed at in the US. i respect him that he's making music and he likes it, but if he wants to be famous he's gotta bring something new to the table. you cant make some shit beat that everyone and their grandma has heard and then rap about how fly you are and expect to be the next eminem.
 
What the hell dude, are you a prick because you think it's funny, or because you think your different than everyone else? Your the only one laughing at him so far in my experience..

Who ever said he wanted to be the next eminem and famous? He wants to make a career out of music, not go superstar.

i know hes exaggerating but what im getting is that he wants to get really popular and wants to be known. and im not different from anyone else, im just giving him some criticism on what he should work on. i know tones of people would say the same thing as me, its just that you guys arent dissing him because hes been on NS for a long time. it's kind of like when you got a brother who's in a band and they actually sound terrible but you say they are good just because your brother is in it. I've got way more respect for Flash Fiction (the dude a few posts up), he makes some raw beats, why doesnt a Ghost try to make something out of that.
 
Then give him criticism, the original post I had beef with had nothing to say but, "This dude sucks". Tons*, and no we aren't dissing him because he's a respected member of NS, but honestly I like his stuff. Sure it needs work, but that only comes with practice, I have a feeling Ghost'll make it in the music industry.

I appreciate your time to reply, and its people like you that keep me pushing. I am currently working on 3 ski themed songs. Currently working on other tracks for the memory of fallen soldiers for Iraq, working on a few dance tracks - just because they are dance tracks doesn't mean Im trying to be like everyone else.. just that us skiers like to dance to. I would love to make a track that I can see my fellow NS family rocking in a club. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to write out your feelings, and keep tuned. Cuz I'll let my ns family hear all my songs before anybody else does. One love
 
Where can i listen to this song on its own? Haven't been able to find it. Not gonna lie, I think the look you're pushin in those pics looks pretty lame. Definitely looks awkward and out of place, but that's your call. If you can pull it off, more power to ya. Just my constructive criticism i guess. I'd like to hear the song and see how that is, if you have a direct link i'd be interested.

GD I know you love skiing, but when i see those pics all I can think of is vanilla ice. I know you need to try and stand out, but i'm not sure thats the best image for you to be standing out in.

I mean the best, you tracks are dope, i just think the image may hold you back
 
I appreciate your comment. My whole thing is every time I step on stage, I want to step on stage with my ski community. A community that has been doubted and forgotten about in the music industry. No one cares about us skiers, us newschoolers. No one cares if we sing, if we rap, no one cares.

I'm showing em they have to. I'm showing em we are more then just ski bums, sled heads, and the like. And that we are talented individuals. So yes, people may say I look funny I look different. but I can name several indivduals from Flava Flav with the big clock, to Pharrel with his skateboard and skateboard gear at his shows, to Mickey Avalon wearing female clothing onstage.. and countless others. I'm not trying to be like anybody else, I'm not trying to follow anybody's footsteps but my own. On here we call ourselves Newschoolers. On here we call our selves innovators and progressors in the world, I'm just following the motto of being a newschooler.. By changing the game and the face of what people think of us skiers. By showing people I'm proud to wear my ski goggles on stage, I'm happy to wear my boots on stage, I don't care. I don't care because the future is gonna be us taking over the music industry, the movie industry, and the snow industry.. Why? Because we progress. and nothing will ever stop us. We're Newschoolers baby. Be about it.

I haven't read this whole thread, or listened to the music yet. but this goes to 2+2=5. getting famous isn't everything, maybe he is making the music because he likes it. and when did society say that have to be black to make good rap?
 
Do you really want to know why I do music? I do music because I love it. I love to see the reaction on people's faces after they listened to my music - good or bad. I love to hear that my music helps someone have a better day, gives them strength, helps inspire, touch, and even move them.

I have received over 300 emails from family of fallen soldiers and kids who lost their family overseas. One email was sent to me from a wife who lost her husband in Iraq and she had told me how much my song red white and blue touched her and reminded her of all the good times they had. Another email I received was from a kid who lost his parents in Iraq and he told me he had played that song at their funeral. I received another message from a Marine turned UFC fighter who wanted to use the song as his walk-out song but wasn't allowed to by his manager because it didn't suit the vibe the sponsors were looking for - but the fact remains that the song meant so much to him that he personally pushed to use it.

I lost my brother this September to drugs and alot of my songs I'm doing reflect that. My message is that abusing drugs not only hurts you but also HURTS your family, loved ones, and friends every day. My message is to stand for what you believe in.

I am currently working on a speech to talk with kids at highschools and let them know drugs aren't cool and it doesn't just affect them; it hurts their family and friends in the long run. I want to show them that there are so many other cool positive things out there like skiing or music, or any other activities, and show them that being a leader is better than being a follower. I know I'm nobody, and I know alot of kids aren't going to give a shit about what I'm saying and won't want to listen to me.. but I'm doing it for that 1 kid - that 1 kid that might have learned something from it. Because if I can help one kid, then it all was worth it.

I am also teaming up with the YMCA in Sacramento to get innercity kids who have never had a chance to hit the slopes and bring them up to the mountains - just to keep them out of trouble and to show them a different side of life.

I do this for the next guy who's lost his brother and to help him have strength, to stand for his brother, to hold the family together, and to know that it's ok to shed tears.

I do this for the druggie or alcaholic or anyone with addictions who'se struggling- to let them know it hurts more than just them, it hurts their loved ones. and they can make it through this. There is hope. Tomorrow will be a better day.

I'm doing it for the kid who feels out of place, because he looks different, or part of a non-hip hop group of friends or from a non hip hop town that feels he can not make it in the hip hop industry. I'm here to show him that you can do whatever you put your mind to and that with perseverance and dedication you can capture any goals. I stand for all Newschoolers and the ideology that first brought us all together - which is uniqueness, innovators, independant thinking, and gratifications ofothers. I stand for the Newschooler Idealology. DO I STAND ALONE? DO I STAND A-LONE?

and this kind of relates to skiing to. just because you suck at it (not necessarily you) does that mean you shouldn't do it? no. you should keep skiing if you are having fun. just like he should keep rapping.

Ghost, J-rock, you fucking rule. Keep on doing what you do - chasing your dream. Fuck yea buddy, It's so good to hear that you're doing well. Your family here always knew you'd go somewhere, even those many years ago. Although, one thing does make me sad... I miss your graphic work. You were one of the best GDers that I knew, and you got me into all this shit... come on, do one little piece? haha. That's my only request.
 
sick stuff. is "things" sampled from family reunion? i remember attempting to sample it awhile ago, haha.
