This country was born on the idea that everyone can express themselves/opinions and not be put not for that. Denying anyone the right to get married because their lifestyle is different from the status quo is against our natural rights.

Doesn’t our constitution state that we are all the right to life, liberty, and happiness. If being gay and being married makes you happy then go ahead and get married. We should never stop someone from being happy.

heres your answer: ignorant douches who believe they are THE sole deciders of right and wrong. The US is a democracy so all people have the chance to way in, except in some cases where the govt. decides to be retarded and makes the choice themselves. NOW with that being said I assume that the whole country of norway voted on this, not that the govt. said "hey heres a good idea". Now back to the whole democracy thing, we all have the freedom to think whatever we want and have our own opinions,SO that means that there will always be a vote against whatever we decide. There are still people that belive blacks should still be slaves and women should be home doing housework. But when we as a mojority opened our minds and realized "they are citizens who deserve the same rights and benifets" they got them, there were still people that didnt like the idea but due to the basis of our country they deserved it. Like i said before I dont really care for gays but I do belive they deserve the same rights due to the fact that they are citizens. I belive that this topic should be put to the people and WE should decide it as a majority....put demoracy into action
 
First off i did not disagree with lesbian partners read my post i clearly stated that. Second off i said that i could see how it would make them more openminded once again read my post. I was saying how i don't see how two men can provide it the same love as a mom would.

preventing outcasting and being looked down upon is not part of the governments responsibility. It is individuals' responsibility to have integrity and not be an asshole to gay people. That is a completely separate issue.

please dont start this shit, let me list off some other institutions: prison, school, college, democracy, the judicial system, and finally NEWSCHOOLERS. honsestly how often do institutions change, they evolve to suit the times, this is the same close-minded thinking ive been talking about.

.....i dont really see how marrige fits in there, i guess it "promotes" only having one partner...BUT WAIT the divorice rate is OVER 50%, so i dont see how that works, i guess the only real thing it promotes is giving half your shit away and getting to see your kids once every 2 weeks.

so if they wanna put up with it i say why not?
