This deserves it's own thread. Ghana's win is complete bullshit. The ref totally sucks, and screwed the US over. If it weren't for the terrible call, the US would have maintained their momentum and won. So I have to give a big fuck you to our slut of a ref.

oh and I hope ghana has a good time getting killed by brasil. All the ghana players are fucking pussies. Anytime they got near the US player they dove or pretended to be hurt, lying down on the ground to waste time.

I wish so badly that Ghana wins the entire doodley dang thing. That would create a fricken golden age in Africa and so many problems would be settled over this one thing. In fact, because of that, Im going to bribe every national team to take a dive with my sisters body.

Yea, the refs were awful. They made one poor call after another.

But not everything can be blamed on the refs. Where was the United States? They were sleepwalking until the 60th minute, when Johnson was put in. And after that they didn't step up. Yea you can blame this shit on the refs all you want, but ultimatly what the end results come down to is the effort of the team.

Oh, and everyone was diving. That's something that EVERY team in the world does. It's a big problem in soccer, but you know what? Ghana was yellow carded because of diving, and the ref didn't call fouls for many of the dives, so you can't blame the loss on that
 
yeah i was dissapointed in the amount of time wasted in the second half, esp towards the end ghana was just being bad

what the hell were we doin playin 451 the WHOLE time....we should have been sending forwards in a game thats win or die and we were down by 1...bad coaching, bad reffing, and the players that needed to step up didn't

what the fuck are u talking about??? i have been for italy winning since day 1 of the world cup...i think Holland and Czech Rep. are outstanding teams and i have always supported them as well...where did u get this information from that i only support the teams that beat the US???

See it's people like you that ruin the world cup for the us. You are just one step above the people that do nothing but sit at home, drink beer, watch nascar and football, and complain about how soccer is a pussy sport. World Cup is suppoused to bring countries together to cheer for their national team. They put aside political issues and teenage rebellious attitudes. If you go to England and cheer for the opposite team in a bar, they will most likely shun you and you won't have any friends. That's how it should be here, a national bond when World Cup is on.

I never said it was solely political reasons, I was mostly referring to the teenage rebellious attitude. That's such a poor reason for wanting your home team eliminated. I ddin't say you were ruining the world cup, just people like you as a whole.

didn't read the whole thread...all i have to say is that no matter the calls, or anything else, ghana was definetely a better team-they controlled the ball better and won way more 50-50 balls

Hmm that really looks like Ghana controlled the game right? The US got unlucky with calls and shots. Ghana controlled about 35 mins of the game, but the rest was all USA. Ghana's defense is absolutely horrible. This is where Brazil (being an offenseive team) is going to dominate. Ghana's defense cannot controll the ball steadily in the back end. Brazil is going to capitalize on this and win the game.
 
You see it's a wonderful thing being a soccer fan in the U.S. Because the rest of the country is so ignorant about this sport, it's perfectly acceptable for anyone to root for any team they want. We can root for whatever club we want without shame or fear of becoming a pariah. But if you do go to England there will undoubtedly be those who will root against England. Probably people who are tired of a few of the hooligans' racist antics.

And chastising people for not rooting for the team of your choice will probably drive them to root against them or hate them that much more, out of spite for someone who tells them that they are wrong for rooting for a certain team.
 
You cease to amaze me. The US is no doubt ignorant about soccer. I never said you couldn't root for any team you wanted, I just said it was stupid.

That is why I admire countries like Brazil, England, and Germany. The majority of the country pays attention and roots for their team. That is the true meaning of World Cup, not just some adolescent trying to gain attention.
 
I thought the true meaning of the world cup was to bring 32 countries together and to have them battle each other for prestigious cup and lifelong glory. I also thought it serves to bring the world together as they all spectate a peaceful fight where the countries politics and power have no bearing on the outcome of the tournament.

Yes, that is admirable, but it is not the case in the US. I know that you didn't say it is, but since the US were not brought up in a place where soccer players are god, we are free of any allegiance to our country's national team. And why is rooting for a different team stupid? People could have many different reasons for rooting for a certain national team. Is it simply because they are citizens of one country they are bound to that one country?
 
i am sick of the US getting bullshit refs. We outplayed each team we played in the world cup (except for czech republic) Everyone says how the US team is bad but we cant win if the refs dont want us to. Take another look at the "penalty" inside the box. Just good defending and Pimpong just flopping like his little bitch ass did the whole entire game. Cant wait to see Brasil kick the shit out of them

Oh yeah we definately didn't play well vs the Italians...You have got to be kidding me. We played an insane game against Italy. The Ghana game wasn't too bad, we just got the short end of the stick.
